Anyone ever done any prospecting for gold in Michigan or nearby?
« on: December 14, 2017, 06:13:56 PM »

Looks like panning or using a metal detector are the most usual ways.  Apparently the potential for gold is everywhere in Michigan.  The glaciers pushed it clear down into Ohio and Indiana.

I've watched some of the cable shows where they are prospecting but never really took an interest in doing it myself.  I'm patient enough to fish, but not certain I have enough for that.

As long as they pay the 'gold' price for it I don't care!!!

Even though they do look similar if you have some of each in hand you can readily tell the difference.

Iron pyrite hasn't been called Fool's Stone for nothing......old news and wasn't the point I was making, who in their right mind would have thought that pic was a bucket full of gold.

There are lots of people who aren't in their "right mind," and many of them live in Monroe.
