Those low aspect ratio tires would last...maybe a minute on Plank road.  As an aside, I make sure whatever car I buy has at least 70 series tires, preferrably 78 series.  In this state you need all you can get between the rim and the tread.

Not into the low ride wide tire look anyway.  Hell in snow, bad in rain.

That's a neat picture...   looks like it's going 100mph while it's sitting still ;) ;) ;)

Anxious to see it in competition.

Note that aerodynamic feature where that wind tunnel hole goes between the passenger cabin and rear tire suspension tower cover.  Never seen anything like that before.

That caught my eye too...

maybe that's designed to add additional advertising and promotional decals ;) ;) ;)

Really low to the ground too.  Ideal for snagging chunks of concrete that fall from deteriorating overpasses or from the roadbed and tearing the bejesus out of the underbody components...  Really a desireable vehicle for Michigan roads....mot.

Gimme a 4x4 with some ground clearance anyday.

LOL......I doubt the target marketing area included Michigan, but understand your point.

I have one veh with the low profile tires and have hit a few pretty good potholes.  I'm puzzled as to why the tire held up and i didn't damage the wheel.  Maybe tougher than they look.

I don't know that the tires are any weaker but rather the lower profile rims increase the chance of the edge of the rim hitting the rim of the pothole (or a piece of loose road material) and bending enough to loose air.  The taller profile the tire/wheel is the less chance of that happening although as deep as so many of these holes are it's probably not as big an advantage as we'd like to think it is!

Same here blue2.....I have had a vehicle with those low profile tires since 2012 with no issues.......yet.   ;)

A differant spin on this topic

http://www.automobilemag.com/features/news/watch-the-new-ford-gt-race-car-prepare-for-a-return-to-le-mans/

I was so focused on the car in the video that it was about the third time through that I realized at least part of that video was recorded Sebring Raceway in Sebring, FL.

Sebring is where we go in the winter although my wife has spent a lot of time there this summer too :( :( :(  And our youngest daughter is there now too.

I go quite often out to the race track (it's close to the produce stand where we get our produce and boiled peanuts) and watch the various vehicles testing.  It's a rare day that there is nothing going on at the track and as you can see in the video you never know just what may be there.

There is a driving school there:  http://skipbarber.com/

We were there about lunch time one day the first year we were in Sebring and I was just driving around looking to see what I could see.  Somehow I ended up right out on the track although I was only going probably 10 mph.  Eventually someone from the driving school caught up to us and explained I wasn't supposed to be there (which I sort of already had figured out).  They were nice so I stayed nice and just turned around and left.

Anyway, here's some pictures and video of them testing the GT at Sebring.  I'll send the link to our daughter.  She's working just a few miles from there.  Maybe she'll see something of it and can get me some 'first hand' photos.

This foxsports link dated September 1st shows them testing at Sebring.

This link shows the same video arpydave posted but it specifically says it was recorded at Sebring.

The tires i have are pretty wide too.  A lot wider than normal tires. Maybe 8 or 9" wide.

That is a really cool paint job, LOVE it!

Also, another good view of that area we talked about earlier.

I have never been involved nor know much about exterior styling design as it relates to aerodynamics, but I would almost think one would get enough of a "down force" coming out of those openings that you could damn near get by without the spoiler?????

I think the car would look much sexier and road worthy without the spoiler.
