This one was found over on the west side of the state but the video at the bottom explains it can grow anywhere in Michigan and has actually been found even in the west end of the UP.  So, certainly possible it could be right here in Monroe County too.

We've been keeping our eyes open and still haven't encountered any around here!

I keep watching for this stuff especially when I'm working with the brush trimmer.  It tends to pulverize and 'juice' anything it encounters and if it hit any of this hogweed it would throw the juice and create the potential burns the article talks about.  I've read some stories of nasty incidents in other areas. 

So far we haven't found any but will continue to watch for it.  It's north of us and east of us so I won't be surprised to find it right around here.
