These are Sandhill Cranes in Sebring Florida.  The first day I saw them they were still in their nest where the gator is sunning himself on the little island in a photo I posted on here earlier...

It was March 14th, 2009...    ATG's "half birthday" so I'll dedicate this pic to her ;) ;) ;)

These are the Sandhill Cranes the first day I found them...   actually, they are quite a popular attraction in the area but it was our first stay in that part of Florida.  They are on a little island in the middle of a big retention pond.  The gator I posted earlier was on the same island a few days later.  When I first saw the gator on the island my heart just sank...   but there were the cranes off walking around on the shore 8) 8) 8)

I remember when this was first aired. The guy sprayed himself with "doe-in-heat" just to see what would happen. That's how it was caught on video.

He's lucky he didn't turn his back on that buck.   :o

OK..this one was from a couple years ago.  Heron's occasionally show up at our pond, here in Dundee, and gobble up all the fry from the breeding fish.

Living in town, I didn't think I'd ever be able to participate in this thread. But lo and behold, we had some visitors today that I think Dawg will approve of! ;0)  That's my way-cool raised bed (wood and plastic tubs) garden in the background.

It's a great day for ducks! They're still there as I type!! Hope my cats don't get after them....

Well it's definitely a "ducky day" Monique B...

Our cats have never bothered our tame ducks so I doubt yours will bother the wild ones...   ducks can get a little defensive if they have to...

I was driving south on Navarre at Humphrey earlier in the week...  had to wait for a pair of ducks that were waddling (quite slow) west on Humphrey...

Every day when I head out to change the memory card in the trail cam the big red dog goes with me...

some days she gets there ahead of me and just stands and waits....

the first time I saw her on the camera I thought it was a small brown bear 8* 8* 8*

It amazes me what a camera does to a woman in terms of performance enhancements!   ;)

Last spring we had to cut a limb off an apple tree out in the woods...

We knew there was a hole in the tree but we sure didn't expect to find what crawled out once the limb was down...

my wife took these with her cell phone cam...    I did get some with my good camera but they didn't turn out for some reason (most likely operator error)...   and I haven't been able to find them...   there were a total of three of these little furballs down in there...  one of them might be the same one that seems to get up close and personal with the trail cam...

Awwww!!! What cuties! These are great pics for a phone cam. The first one especially looks like it should be a postcard or something. Very nice!
