Warmer Fall Months Leading To Increase In Stink Bug Population
« on: October 24, 2017, 09:26:03 AM »

We're definitely seeing more of these things around than we have in the past.

Anyone have any suggestions on getting rid of them?

Ha ha,don't' squeeze them.. I had some in my screened in back porch a few weeks ago and haven't seen any since.  i swatted some with a fly swatter.  I then sprayed some directly and then sprayed around the inside of the porch.  I used some of my liquid diazion that i mixed in a spray bottle..

Don't know about stink bugs but I dosed about 5000 box elder bugs with higher than recommended dose of Malathion on my brick walls. If there were any stink bugs in the area--they didn't make it.
I have had a few in the house. I wonder how they get in. I just scoop them up with a napkin and flush them.

I had the box elder bugs a couple of years ago.  thousands of them hanging onto the south side of the house.  I too sprayed the heck out of them.   Haven't had any since.  I though they probably came from the mulch i used..

What I have found that works real good on Box Elder bugs is just to mix a detergent with some water and spray them with that.  You have to soak them but it kills them pretty quick.  It softens them and they just die.  Not all bugs go that quick but they seem to be very vulnerable to the detergent thing.

I just get cheap dish soap usually...   whatever Kroger has on sale or just go to one of the dollar type stores.

I have found spraying things with water and soap to be quite effective too!
