That seems to have been the trend with almost all corporations.  Run the business unitl it's no longer needed and file bankruptcy and let the people pay to clean up the mess.  Toledo if full of those projects and i suspect Monroe too

Or if they are REALLY a responsible Corporate Citizen that is too healthy to go bankrupt - they sit on the property until they are ready to go bankrupt.

That looks to be the fate of the Monroe Ford plant.

Seems like they're continuing to keep awareness high in the area:

It was for sale for quite some time.   Owner must have given up on it.

Here's an old LoopNet listing but not a lot of info:

Looks like a great location for a marijuana retail outlet.  Seems like there may be a church just south of there and across the street.  Not sure what the guidelines may end up being for that.

We were in Ida Thursday afternoon and noticed the little grocery store on the south side of town is all closed up.

We would occasionally stop there if we were on our way home from US-23 or points west.

I'm sure people in the area are finding it a loss.

Rain...

heavy, steady rain.

The corn across the road is growing good but there is water standing in the rows.

Looks like a good day for indoor games!!!
