Does it seem like this has been a very long winter already - and we are only in January?

10-4.  Probably because the last couple were cakewalks.  This one isn't.  The rest of January, February, most of March and maybe even a bit of April.

Wish it was April Fool's already.

Been a tough month  -  my younger sister passed away on the 8th  - her 47th birthday would have been today.

She was in the hospital for a month prior - so if I haven't posted much - thats why -

Now to catch up on things...

Sorry to hear about the loss of your sister Professor.

Birthdays are always rough and I'm sure her birthday falling so close is extra tough.

You and your family hang in there and just take things one day at a time.

While I was in the Army we had the Red Eye shoulder fired air defense missile.  We had a team attached to every company.

Later the Red Eyes were slowly replaced by an updated Stinger...

still shoulder fired but different guidance systems.  Now the Stinger is still being used but they're being updated so they can be used against drones!

Some neat pictures and videos!

Very interesting!

I remember the first time I saw drone technology and thought "Uh Oh" knowing that evil uses were on the horizon as a new weapon.

Here's something to help balance life...

another positive use for a drone:

I guess the thing I don't quite fathom is why the need for fancy weapons to take out a drone when a well placed round from almost any medium caliber rifle will do the trick quite nicely.  Sure would be a whole lot less expensive.

My 338 would remove a drone at 1500 yards no problem.
