Contrast how the NBA handled their national anthem protests.

The NBA and Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf have fixed the price of his stance on--or refusing to stand for--the national anthem. It's $31,707 every time it's played before a Denver Nugget game.

That's the per-game portion of Abdul-Rauf's $2.6-million annual salary. The NBA suspended him Tuesday and said he will have to forfeit it as long as he refuses to obey a league rule that states "players, coaches and trainers are to stand and line up in a dignified posture . . . during the playing of the American and/or Canadian national anthems."

No exceptions.

Will both of you please take your hate speech back to the politics where it belongs and perhaps even appreciated.  Both posts are radically 'off topic' for this thread.

Keep pushing...

you're getting closer to only 9 members left!!!

I'm going to lock the thread down and see if you two will go back and play in your own sandbox...

one of the biggest issues this country is facing is that no one seems to be able to follow the most basic and easy to understand rules and guidelines.

Shaking my head in disbelief that a couple of adults have such a low level of comprehension!

Heard  a call for Bedford last night...

something about injuries from a high speed airbag deployment!

They originally dispatched all 3 stations...   I assume that the dispatcher assumed that there was some kind of a wreck or crash at the location.

After a couple of minutes the dispatcher came back on to advise that apparently the 'crash' and air bag deployment had happened at another location.  If he said where it was I don't remember hearing that part.

The victim at the scene was only suffering from the impact of the airbag.  That alone can be pretty traumatic and with all the potential Takata airbags still out there it could add additional trauma.

I am curious why they left the scene of whatever they hit though :-\ :-\ :-\

I'm not going into any details...   waiting to see if it makes the news :-\ :-\ :-\

I haven't seen anything in the news yet...   I won't leave you hanging.

I also haven't seen an obituary yet either which adds a little more to the mystery!

Toledo is requesting a station standby from a Monroe County FD.  It's not strange to hear a mutual aid request like that but you don't hear Toledo requesting it very often.

Not only multiple traffic crashes across the county but also multiple slip and falls with injuries too.  Glad we don't have anywhere we have to go this morning.

There's also a shortage of ambulances due to the heavy number of calls in both Toledo and Monroe County.

And now Washington Township is requesting Morin Point for a station standby while WT is helping Toledo on multiple calls.

La Salle VFD has had Dixie Hwy closed in both directions just south of Roselawn for the last hour at least.

Recent scanner traffic was the fire chief requesting a patrol car due to an issue with a semi driver refusing to follow traffic 'directions' from a firefighter.

Too bad when an ego has to get in the way of an already bad situation :( :( :(

Bedford had a 'public assist' call earlier.

A woman locked her 1 year old in the car.  I didn't catch if the car was still running or not.

I think this was on a city fire dispatch yesterday.

"The victim is 'partially' trapped in the vehicle!"

I'm not sure exactly which part of the victim's body was trapped...

or maybe which part wasn't trapped ??? ??? ???

I know if I was the one trapped it wouldn't be a laughing matter but sometimes some of these calls leave a little to the imagination.

Typically the dispatcher merely passes along the information they are getting from the victim or from John Q. Citizen at the scene.

I didn't ever hear any major discussion from the scene so it must not have been a complicated call.
