one of these cases will get a radical judge someday and that will answer us why casino's get off free for a malfunction...    should be a minimum payout of 10K for their "malfunction"

Monroe SOS has new 'tab' kiosk.

For those that like (have) to wait until the last minute to buy new tabs for their license plates the SOS has a new kiosk just for you!!!  I haven't actually seen it but it says so on Twitter.  We were in there right after we got back from Florida and there was no sign of it then.

Have to use a credit card and the state makes you pay the fee.  I'd think eventually it would save the state money by eliminating personnel and they would pick up the credit card fee.  I won't use it.

I've often wondered about the gas stations that 'up' the price a dime a gallon to cover the credit card fee.  I would almost think they'd do a discount for using a credit card.  It's not 'free' to account for all the cash and check transactions.  Figure in some 'loss' for handling cash now and then and you're in the hole already.  When you take a credit card the money is in you bank account as soon as the transaction is over.  With cash and checks someone still has to transport that to the bank at some point in the future.  If it's an armored vehicle those cost money too...   manager or trusted employee taking it personally and there are still risks of it not 'all' getting to the bank.

I love the stories of people going through the fast food drivethru and ending up getting the 'bank deposit' instead of their order :o :o :o

Cards with direct transfers of funds sure seem to save everyone lots of time and money.  But leave it to the government to make you pay for it.
It should even be a savings for the financial institutions.  Nobody handling cash.

Exactly...   they both save and they want to charge the cardholder!!!

I guess it's good easy money if you can get it!

Just renewed mine online earlier this month and they charge you the fee there as well.

Well I think they do call it a "convenience fee" (many non merchants do that) and being able to do it from home is certainly convenient.   Still less expensive than driving around with expired tags :o :o :o
