Record number of drone pilots quit jobs, cite PTSD & mental health issues

New reports show that a record number of drone pilots and operators are leaving their positions, despite the Obama administration ramping up drone warfare abroad. RT’s Anya Parampil examines the numbers and why people have been leaving their posts – including for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

3) The moron stalkers from MT contemplating a visit will be considered a threat and can expect to have a bad day if they act upon those idiotic thoughts.

I have a couple nice 'anti-drone' rifles.  Invade my airspace and I'll shoot you down.

In a few years you may want to think twice about that...

it may be one of these that can shoot back!!!

This guy makes it sound like he's Russian...

isn't that a big old Oldsmobile behind him in several of the scenes  ??? ??? ???

I want one....

My son bought two yesterday (not the one with the machine gun)!

A small 'trainer' for indoor practice and training...   you could put two of them on the face of a smart phone.  I got down there just as he was starting his 2nd 'training' flight.  He was doing pretty good with it for no longer than he had to practice.  But, he's a welder so has pretty steady hands already.

Then he has a bigger one with a video/still camera.  After a couple of practice flights with the little one he decided to take the big one out in the back yard and try it.  On this one the video streams direct to his phone while he uses the controls.  Again, he had it going good in just a few minutes.  He's in a suburban subdivision so he didn't want to let it get too high or too far away.  Hopefully he'll get it out here today and we can take it out in one of the hayfields and really 'test' it out!

The accent sounds fake.

And if you click through the long list of videos the guy posted, you'll see quite a few American vehicles.

Plus the topography doesn't seem like anything in Russia that I'm aware of...but then I'm no expert.

It's difficult to imagine a drone maintaining airborne stability firing a machine gun.

Saw the gun pointed at the guy...and wondered if the guy thought about what could go wrong.

Figured the first shot would exit with enough force that it could turn the drone laterally...and strafe his behind.

Kind of moot anyway, you can't own anything with a weapon, automatic or manually activated.

That's one of the reasons I wondered if he was really from Russia...

I'm guessing their laws are little more 'open' in that department!

And oftentimes it's not easy to determine who those bad people are until it's too late.

There are bad people employed in the field of law enforcement...just as there are bad people hiding behind religion.

BRD . . . I can almost guarantee this is a fake video.

  1.  I'm pretty sure that drone could not lift that much weight.
It must be a lightweight dummy gun.
  2.  If you watch the muzzle flash, it is just a white spot.
  3.  There isn't enough recoil for something that unstable.

I'm pretty sure after he lines up the shot, someone in the background does the actual shooting.

I figured they could make a resin 'gun' that it might be able to lift but was pretty sure they would lose total control of the drone once it fired the first round...

they might better work on some kind of a drone based laser weapon ;) ;) ;)

Actually, with a properly designed muzzle brake and the right caliber, recoil can be almost entirely mitigated.

I think this summer you need to stop by and light off my big 338.  It's kicks (recoils) about like a 223.
