An Australian cattle dog.

Two guinea pigs that are my daughters 4-H projects.

We had the best collie in the world who passed away last year.

Sorry to hear that Tim.....my neighbor when I was young had a Collie, and she was one of the greatest temperaments I have ever seen in a dog.

We waited 2 years before we got Sadie after our lab mix died after 15 years......I still slip and call her Barlow on rare occasions and forgot just how much more rambunctious a puppy was versus an older dog.

My wife had a sheltie collie when she was growing up.  Excellent dog with kids and not a huge dog.  Smart as can be and would definitely ride herd over the cats at the Fuzz house :o :o :o

BRD and Fuzz:

Thanks for the kind words about our collie.  His name was laddie and our vet in an attempt to be funny, added, Esq. to the end of his name.  When we had him AKC registered, his registered name was Laitur's lightfingered Lad, Esq.  (the lightfingered part came in as his nose was just about the height of our kitchen table, and he was adept at taking things off the table when no one was looking).

My wife is still heartbroken about him being gone.  Collies are the best dogs.  They will lay around with you or they will go all day with you.  When I had bad knee problems, he would lay across my knees and become a big heating pad.

I am certain that there will be another collie in our future.
