Understandable, and no doubt.

It depends on your driving environment.....out your way being kind of remote, makes perfect sense.

But....  a CTS-V would negotiate them just fine and would probably give the swoopy Ford a helluva run for it's money (in a straight line) too and it's available at Taylor Caddilac if you can afford the insurance.

504 ponies is 504 ponies no matter what it's under......

All I know is a friend's 66 Vette with a 504 crate motor and a Tremag 5 speed on the dyno can't hold a candle to a CTS-V.  Lugs your arse that kicks arse.

Carbon Fiber wheels for the GT?

http://artofgears.com/2015/10/08/rumor-ford-gt-supercar-being-outfitted-with-carbon-fiber-wheels/

Article on testing at Daytona...   they mention that they'll be going to Sebring next.  Maybe I'll get a chance to see some first hand testing.  There is only one 'public access' point with a view of the track and it's right at a near hair pin curve so you don't see much speed but you certainly may see some action!!!

I think there are a lot of products people probably handle every day that are made from carbon fiber but they don't think about or realize just what it is.

Considering how 'crude' the process was when I fist started working with it I'm amazed at how much it's progressed and how they can machine it today.

Here's a very short video I recorded at Sebring the very first time we went there.  Probably February of 2008 or 2009.  I can remember which car we had but not exactly the year.  My wife could probably figure it out.  For whatever reason the camera I recorded it with would only do a 10 second burst of video and it also did not record the date (or if it did I've lost that info over the years).

It was 'old timers' day at the track...   for the cars, NOT me!!!  It was quite a mixture of foreign and domestic cars.  Not really by class...  just 'old'!  If you just let it run it should take you into a long video of the track from a Skip Barber race school car.  He's the guy that kicked me off the track a few days before I took the video.

This is where I was standing (outside the track) when I took the above.  We had parked in the industrial park right across the street and I had walked over.  That probably wouldn't work during 'race weekend' but for any of the testing or small races like this one it works ok.

The latest and greatest in rifle technology is carbon fiber wrapped, steel cored barrels.  been looking at the offerings for another custom build.

I'm sure we're not even really started with all the uses there are out there for carbon fibers...

While so much of technology has been focused on the electronics end for the last 30 years they've kind of let the development in this area slide...

If I was just starting out today I think it's field I'd give a close look at getting into.
