Looks like the video game store on Telegraph near Taco Bell is shutting down based on the numerous signs in front of the strip mall they are in.

Looks like the mall is down to 26 tenants, not including vending machines, and another (Vitamin World) filed for bankruptcy this week.   I really have to believe they will shut down the interior of the mall at some point soon.

Maybe Google or Amazon can use it for a storage facility or office space for their servers

You saw that someone wants to convert the old LZB facility into a storage place but the city denied the zoning change.   I'm not sure what the city thinks would be built there instead but I just can't see it happening with all the greenfield sites with lower taxes and no City of Monroe to deal with less than a mile north.

That company will be back with a better rezoning proposal. The one they initially made was not the correct zoning for what they said they wanted to do there.

Zoning is a wonderful thing until you get on the receiving end.

No sign's of any kind of life around Fino's restaurant for a couple of weeks now.  There's a sign in their front window that says they're closed due to their grill being broken.  I just can't imagine any grill that couldn't have been repaired in that time frame.  If it's beyond repair they may have to bite the bullet and buy a new one.  Can't imagine a restaurant without a grill :( :( :(

Hasn't Finos been closed for months?

Sort of 'closed' but not completely.  They seemed to open in short stretches and then return to the 'temporarily' closed status again.  sometimes they have a note on the front door and other times they just weren't open during their posted hours.  Then they shortened their hours to breakfast and lunch (closed at 2) which pretty much eliminated us from being in there.  Then for the last several weeks there was the note on the door about the grill being broken.

Even the last stretch they were open regularly when we went in there a few times they were definitely short on customers.  A couple of times at 8 pm we would be the only customers in there...  and maybe 2 would stop in to pick up a takeout order.

The exterior of the building was in need of some 'detailing'...   lots of trash in the parking lot, weeds (some pretty tall) growing in the cracks of the parking lot and the sidewalk.  it was just not a very 'welcoming' exterior lately.

I would say that the market for that level of 'dining' has gotten saturated in the Monroe area lately and this operation was the weakest link in the chain and it has finally snapped.

A...   I don't do facebook

B...   if they announced it on facebook apparently they didn't think they wanted to keep it a secret.

I'm always a bit suspect of any business when they decide to hide behind the corporate shield.  I absolutely understand the concept of keeping info private while they may have been in the 'negotiations' stage but once it's been sold 'most' business people no longer want to keep things a secret.

But thank you for your uninformed concerns anyway...

as to your opinion about me...

I served 'my time' in the United States Army so that posters like you could remain to free to post whatever you want...

so keep posting!!!

I would enjoy hearing about your time in the military or perhaps what you've done as 'alternative' service...

you know...  what have 'you' done for the United States of America to earn your right to be a citizen ??? ??? ???

I will be anxiously awaiting your reply ;D ;D ;D
