Never considered growing potatoes     do they require a lot of "Room"...  and what is the yield per plant on average?

.....next spring, if you want some, ride out with BRD.  I always have a bunch to give to
'new growers'.

I will - I think the grandkids would like to see where their frenchfries come from...

FYI, Better Maid in Detroit uses Michigan chipping potatoes.  I remember when Goetz sold to them, Armstead too.

Update:

The sweet corn has sporadically come up (I think some got drowned out), the 'taters are all coming along and the onions...we will have sacks of onions this year, all the sets I got from Family Farm and Home in Adrian are doing fine.

CL's 'mater plant is 'alive' too.   lol

Nothing planted yet and am worried about finding the good plants i use to get at The Andersons.

My garden is covered with some weed that spreads like crazy.  It's completely covered.
I sprayed today with Kills-all.  It does not harm the soil and i will be able to plant in a few weeks.

I've had good luck with getting healthy plants/annuals from Perrin's.......on M50 just behind where the old Farmer Jack's used to be.  Little on the pricey side but always healthy, and a very good selection.

I'll check Perins out
I like mariglobe and German Johnson tomatoes along with Rutgers.
I really like Giant Marconi peppers
I also plant one or two of habenaro, jalapeño, Fish, Cajun bell, Ghost
I dehydrate them and grind in powder. My son uses the powder.
It takes me a week almost to decontaminate the kitchen

Roundup works too.  Glyphosate's half life is about a week.  Because it's a systemic herbicide, it becomes non-toxic to plants.

I'm sure you know but to enlighten any of our readers that aren't aware Parran's also have a full service center at their main location out in Ida.  We go out there and walk by the hour...  you'll find plants there that you just won't find anywhere else.

http://www.parransgreenhouse.com/

Looks like they open on April 26th for the season.

They're on Secor Road just north of Ida Center.

We have most of our seeds from Gurney this year.  We bought a 72 cell seed starter and have it here with us and we have some of our seeds started...   tomatoes (no idea which ones), the giant pumpkins and lettuce and cauliflower.  We'll be starting some more before we leave.

Forgot about Ida.  That's a heck of a lot closer...
I don't have good luck with seeds.
I started some last year in the house in southern window.
They almost all damped off when i put them on the back porch/
I did something wrong..
