Possible solutions for controlling wilt on Veges and fruit from Rodale's basic organic gardening.
Mix 1 part cows milk with 9 part water and spray plants.
And
Mix 1. Tsp baking soda with 1 Qt water and spray. It says that raises PH and slows down powdery mildew.
It didn't say but I'd guess you would saturate the ground with the baking soda

I see no point in experimenting.  The Sevin is doing it here just fine,  Gonna need a drink soon though (possibly tonight).  getting a might dry.

Pretty hard to buy unpasturized milk.  Guess I could hit up Wadsworth for a jug from a tanker.

Not sure what they meant by cows milk.
I doubt 1 or 2% would do the job.

I'll keep putting Sevin on. If I see that's not 100% effective I'll add the baking soda

My small garden is in for the most part...

I am trying a new trick to keep rabbits out -   I got motion detector spot lights...
first night after they hit the Tomatoes - it seems to have warded them off.

I'm just thinking about planting.  I have to make a trip up Secor to Parrins.

Menards on Alexis has nice vegetable plants and ornamentals too.  Was there yesterday looking for John's zucchini  plants that I couldn't find anywhere.  They had them.  Meijers, across the street has terrible plants.  Obviously, the employees are too lazy to water them, all are wilted and dying.  Same at TSC in Dundee, flats of dying plants.

I have a boatload of potatoes to plant including 10 pounds of Arrostock potatoes from Maine that were given to me by my good friends there.

This year will be the usual sweet corn, brussels sprouts, red and white cabbage, green beans, bell peppers, carrots and spuds.  Garden is prepped to plant, just need to plant it.  Laid in some 46 urea as well.

I do need to get my green beans in later today.  I have the seeds soaking in water (which speeds germination).
