Title: Any Scrapbookers or Card Makers?
Post by: halo_girl on June 16, 2018, 10:41:18 AM
A few years ago I was into scrapbooking big time and have tons of the tools and supplies; sadly scrapbooking hasn't found much of a place here lately so turned to making my own note cards and birthday cards - none of them will be perfect but then they are not made by a factory machine.

My sister in law makes cards.  Always nice to receive one that's hand made.
Hobbies come an go.  I have a spare bedroom full of stuff my wife was into, stained glass, jewelry, painting, glass sculpting etc..

Like I said, I have an entire craft room that for several months just turned into the household "catch all" room and I do mean it caught everything ~LOL~ took some time to clean it all out, tried to sell several of my crafting tools a few times but would pretty much have to give it away and unless it is in my will, it is not going anywhere for free - too much money wrapped up.  I always figured a hand made card was a nice thing to receive as well - it always showed somebody took the time to make something and that in itself made it special.

My two daughters got into it a few years ago as family holiday gifts.  Very nice and will cherish forever!

Family history books just rock in the smiles that can be brought to the face and soul.

My wife made fabric covered scrapbooks for all three of our kids while they were growing up.

That would be really cool :-) I admit I haven't done much in way of scrapbooking; one book was the first meeting between myself and a son I had placed for adoption and we were able to reconnect.  Two other books were from 2012 and 2013 when I made a trip to Vegas to see my dad (we had only reconnected in January 2011).  Since then unfortunately I haven't had much to scrapbook about but when I was unable to sell any of my "tools" I decided to get into card making at least so it was something.

Gal 2 doors down from us does that.  She hosts parties doing that on weekends.

It is nice to see there are those that still enjoy it.  I have a sister in law and a few years ago we hung out at the kitchen table working on our books but sadly that appears to have been a one time thing.  I am pretty much a solo "scrapper" now which is fine.  I have been putting as much of my things to use as I can just making cards for out of state friends.
