Adagio tempo comodo (Baroque Binary)
« on: October 30, 2008, 01:06:44 AM »

Wrote a baroque piece in binary form over the past two days. Starts in Dm, modulates to the dominant 5th (A), and the second half starts in the dominant and modulates back to the tonic (D).

I was pretty pleased with it.

I sent the work to someone at the Vox Saeculorum, and they noticed a few small errors I had to fix. You find some parallel octaves in measure 4 and 18. Nothing big. I just had to move the root G up an octave and push the B down to G, making G/G, and use the same thing with measure 18, making D/D, and it's all good. It was kinda like having four bricks slightly out of place when building a house.  :P

I am SOOO glad you fixed this before I listened to it. I can't even begin to tell you how much it annoys me when I hear parallel octives (especially in measure 18....I mean COME ON.... :D) And NOT to mention when the root G's  are where the B's are supposed to be. UGH! That just totally makes me twitch.  I bet that was just one mess of a tune before you fixed it...... :P

I'm glad all of the kinks are worked out. The Baroque ones are my favorite (they make me want to skip.... ;D ) and I like for them to flow properly!

Anyway....it's a nice little tune. Good job!

Actually, you heard the unrevised version. Here's the fixed one. X's are bad, the checks are good! I also noted the iffy leap from F down to D, but it works! But in the baroque you don't find big leaps like that often, but I'll leave it, because I like it!

English-  yes not what you put on the q ball.
Huh?
