Oh, BTW, we went to J. Alexanders tonight.

Deep fried calamari, salsa and chips for appetizers, and then a REALLY nice 16oz. Prime Rib, with smashed potatoes, washed down with a couple of cold Sam Adam's.  One of the BEST meals I've had at a restaurant in a LONG time!

Five hours later, and I'm STILL full!   :D
That sounds good.

Actually, we went to the one in Livonia on 7 Mile Road.   Little quicker to get there for me.  That and the one in Toledo are the only locations I know of.  It is WELL worth the trip.

There is one in Somerset Mall (I used to meet my wife there after work) & one on Orchard Lake Road.

Great Burgers...

I'm having lunch there today!  One of my favorite places.  Food, service and atmosphere are all excellent.

Just one ?- are they as good (or better) than Mancys or the Maumee Chop House? We prefer the CH over Mancys, but not everyones been there...

I haven't been to Mancy's in 30 years....

Gonna have to go back there!

I would say that Prime Rib I had last night was one of the best I have ever had.  So, J. Alexander's is probably as good or better than Mancy's IMO.

We should hold a gathering there!

Just start saving for it right now.  They are NOT cheap!

Live- Good steak houses usually arent!! If u havent been to Mancys in awhile save ur $$. The last few times we've been they've gone downhill from what they used to be imo. The Chop House on the other hand-not enough good things to say! Just wish I had more $$ so I could visit more often.

Thanks Katy - I will save my money and avoid Mancy's.

I'm going way back now.....  My memory recalls the words "Gandy Dancer"...   Was Mancy's called that, or is the Gandy Dancer another restaurant I'm thinking of?  Or was it called Mancy's Gandy Dancer?

30 years is a long time to remember things like that!  lol

Um...I could be wrong but I think the Gandy Dancer is another restaurant (in A2?)
Situated in the beautifully restored 1886 Michigan Central Depot, Gandy Dancer is an architectural landmark as well as an elegant restaurant known for creative preparations of seafood, steaks and pasta. A popular choice for wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, anniversary parties and other special events, the Gandy Dancer offers guests fine cuisine in an sophisticated, historic atmosphere.
