The Old Lady (Usta be "The Wife") believes she is doing a roast on the grill.

Who knows how this will turn out.

That sounds interesting!
Keep us posted how she did it and how it turned out!

Tonite it's some version of Hamburger Helper.

Sometimes the simpliest things turn out the best.

Not bad, actually, in her defense.

We have one of those "double barrelled, horizontal smoker grills".  I believe she marinated the roast in Russian Dressing for several hours, then seared it on the grill side.  Moved it over to the smoker side for several hours.  We both like our roast to be a bit "charred" on the outside fats.

Then I even think she tossed it in the oven way-y-y-y down to finish it and keep it warm.   :P

Now me, when I smoked the turkey breasts last weekend, I had the turkey "popper's" implanted, and my remote thermomter running.  But that was company in town that I couldn't risk giving a case of "the runs".   :-\
And turkey noodle soup from the leftovers and bones is on tap this weekend!

Nope, no further details on how she did it.

She owns the kitchen, I own the grill.  If I cook in the house, she may try to help.  Then it's a matter of "Okay, it's your kitchen!" and I'll walk away.

Same out on the grill.  She wants to help, she can help.  She wants to cook, though, then she cooks.

So when it's "her grill" I give her space.

But it's MY GRILL!   8) 8) 8)

We have the same or similar smoker grills arpydave...

about anything that can be cooked in the oven we've tried in our grill...

including pizza :) :) :)

And though the one roast we tried was "not too bad" it wasn't so great that we've ever tried it again :-\ :-\ :-\

Thanks for the follow up...   I'll tell my wife how your wife did hers.

I decided to make a dessert.
Some recipes call them magic bars or wonder bar.

I melted some butter in a cake pan.
then put some graham cracker crumbs on top, then condensed milk, chocolate chips , coconut. Nuts are  optional.

For anyone that has a sweettooth & wants a easy to make dessert. These are it.

OMG! My mom makes those. We call them magic cookie bars! Haven't had those in ages. She owes Fuzz lemon desert though, so that will probably be the next desert we have. But after that I'm requesting these!! Mom can't cook much, but some of her old desert recipes are superb!

Haven't told Fuzz yet, but I'm making eggplant Parmesan for dinner. Probably going to make a good salad too. But the problem is I don't have all the ingredients for the salad yet. anyone have a good recipe for a balsamic vinaigrette?

It's grocery store salmon but still looks pretty good...

She brought a whole one and we're freezing part of it for later!

at least it's not Gulf of Mexico oiled up fish...

saw an article on that today and about how the seafood prices in the restaurants and stores is about to start climbing even though most seafood is imported now...   they've been taking lessons from the gasoline companies I'm sure!!!

I made Insalata Rustica with a homemade balsamic dressing. It was incredible. Ask Fuzz.

I also made eggplant Parmesan but the salad was so filling we could barely eat anything. We have lunch and dinner now though!

I'd like to be grilling/smoking tomorrow, but don't have anything thawed or prepped.  I'm sure that even that Gen. Buster guy would tell ya that a good smoked anything requires at least some amount of prep.  And I ain't there for the weekend.  Weather's supposed to be better on Sunday, maybe I'll have something set up by then.  I'll grill or smoke in the rain, snow, freezing temps (freezing temps just make it more of a challenge outside).   8)

Looking towards a new recipe, Meat Stuffed Meat, which sounds like an old favorite, Bacon Explosion.

p.s.  Don't tell Shaggy about these, he'd have a coronary just reading about them!   :P
