I feel very lucky to have the time to be able to do the things I enjoy.
I will say that being a mom & wife is the best job I could ever ask for. I did work at a Ele. school  , but my brother was in a motorcycle accident & my grandmother was dying, so I quit work to take care of them.I never went back to work and now my girls are 18 & 24 I still feel the want/need to take care of them, so I have more time to do the things I enjoy especially in the kitchen. Can't ask for a better job then that. :)

Last night was crab cakes, roasted sweet corn, and grilled tomatoes (freshly picked).

You always have good stuff, Fritz! Sounds delish! How do you grill your tomatoes?

I love BLT'S.

Never think to  make them it seems because my 2 girls don't eat bacon. I need to start making things I like I guess. lol

YES!  Make yourself things that you like!  Let your kids adjust!

If your girls don't eat bacon, try making a BLT with ham or turkey.  Just a ham or turkey sandwich with lettuce and tomato, but very tasty!  Or just a lettuce and tomato sandwich!  With mayo, I love 'em!

Pick them (fresh means the best flavor), slice off the tops,
olive oil, salt & pepper, grill cut side down for a few minutes, flip them over, put fresh basil, Parmesan and bread crumbs on the top, finish cooking.

Let cool a bit, don't burn your mouth.

YUM!

That sounds fantastic! I'll certainly be trying this in a week or so when I have tons of tomatoes!  :)

It's very easy. Your kids might even like it.
Mine always did.

As far as sweet corn I could eat that every day.

Last year I froze 35dz. of corn and put up beets, &  2 kinds of dill pickles and salsa. Haven't started anything this year. :(
If you ever get a food that you want them to try, and they have never had it before, tell them that they can't have any, because they wouldn't like it anyhow.

Pretty soon, they will come begging for a taste. LOL

I once told them that liver was a soft steak, of course they were much younger then, but they liked it . I did however  let the cat out of the bag when they got older and now they will never eat liver again . LOL

Live, I do have one daughter who loves every kind of sandwich there is, but BLTS. lol. My favorite sandwich especially during the summer is fried bologna with miracle whip ( yummy) lettuce, tomato, and lots of black pepper.

Sammy, sounds like you need to read the sale ads and check the online deals, dude!  :D
Used to work at a produce market, and all my veggies were free. When I retired,we moved 100 miles away, so all the good Monroe deals are out of reach. Waaah!

Mmmm...  I love fried ring bologna sandwiches!  I prefer mine with mustard, though.

I also love fried Spam sandwiches!  Quick, tasty, easy, and cheap!   :D
