Ok, it was dinner last night, but it was awesome! Grilled Danny's porterhouse (the girls and I can't make it through one together), grilled fresh corn from Ciolino's ($.10/ear) that was perfectly caramelized, and baked potatoes with a touch of sour cream. Now that was some good eats!

Tonite my ExHubby feeds the girls so H and I are having steak (leftover) nachos for a light dinner. NOM!

Made two items recently that I'd like to share.

The first is watermelon pickles. They taste a lot like a sweet pickle and are made from the rind of the watermelon.

We made up 5 pint sized jars and man are they ever tasty.

We used this recipe

http://www.cooks.com/rec/doc/0,1636,147170-243194,00.html

Also, I went to a work picnic today and made up some cheesy bean dip.

I didn't have the recipe I used to have, so I played it by ear and discovered an even better one than I had before.

2 lbs of velveeta white queso cheese.
3 jars of Chi-Chi's salsa (16 oz size)
1 large can of Old El Paso refried beans

put all ingredients in a large pot and cook until smooth.

The old recipe I had, you couldn't put a chip in it after it was cold, this stuff tastes great both hot, and right out of the fridge.

Fluff, I have made this cheesy bean dip recipe too....but my recipe calls for one envelope pouch of taco seasoning.

So good with tortilla chips.

How about Aftican Land Snails on the half shell?

Sort of like escargot on steriods.

Tonight is Spicy Dr Pepper Pork Shoulder from the Pioneer Woman. I put it in the oven around 10.30; it's gotta cook about 6-7 hours. Already smells divine in my house! Think I'll make some roasted broccoli, cauliflower, and squash to go with.

Tonight I had leftovers from the BBQ we had yesterday.  Those salads taste twice as good on the second day! :)

Smith Bros. sweet corn from Danny's, homegrown tomato and cucumber salad, a few bites of potato salad, and a few bites of grilled pork loin. Now *that's* a summer supper!

Last night I made garlic chicken.  Today for lunch?  Leftover garlic chicken.  Still learning to cook for one.   :-\

Endless shrimp at Red Lobster.

And they do mean endless.

After eating all we could handle (it was a lot)  :P , our waitress asked if we would like some to take home with us so we got 2 orders of fried and an order of shrimp alfredo to go.

Food coma!

Can you switch off, or do you have to stay with your original, on the endless shrimp. I could kill me a mess of  shrimp, whichever it goes!
