tv dinner

I have always liked crock pot cooking, but most especially when I was working every day.  When my son was @ 8 yrs. old, he got up for school, smelled the roast cooking and exclaimed:  "but Mom, I'm not that hungry yet!"  He thought I was fixing his breakfast  ;D

I'm thinking about getting one of those three-banger crockpots. There's one advertised in this week's Target flyer. Meat, veggie, and grain all in one shot! Or even dinner and tomorrow's oatmeal for breakfast.

We've had a long, exhausting weekend, so tonight is rotisserie chicken from Meijer, Steamfresh veggies, a pot of brown jasmine rice, and a loaf of H's homemade bread.

Never heard of a three banger, except.....well, never mind.

Seriously, I just googled it and came up with nothing.

Guess I will try the Target site now.

Must be my own terminology; I didn't read it in the ad. lol

Hmmm, it has been a full moon--maybe I'm just projecting!  ;D

Found it.....not room for large cuts of meat such as a roast though.  Triple Dipper.

I figured you would enjoy bigger cuts of meat....well, that's women in general though.   ;D

You know what they say, everything's bigger in Texas! ;0)

The triple seems to be good for cooking things ahead for the week or for the freezer, too. Handy!

That is the only way I cook any kind of roast anymore.

Nice and juicy every time.

I had a package of chicken breasts that needed to be cooked up. So I diced it up and browned it up.

I also had two different packages of "Noodle-roni" one was Parmesan and the other was chicken broccoli. I got these cooking in an 8 quart dish.

Added 8 oz of fresh white mushrooms sliced thin, 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese, 4 oz butter, 8 oz milk, about 8 oz of sour cream, some freshly minced garlic (about 3 cloves), and some white cheddar cheese (about 8 oz). Then poured the chicken back in and stirred it all up.

After eating my first dish, I decided that it tasted like "MORE!". LOL

Sounds really good.....lots of garlic, did that overwhelm the other flavors?  Looks like it would be a really strong tasting garlic sauce...which I love.

Nope, you could taste it but the creamy, cheesy, and mushroom flavors were there as well. Thankfully fresh garlic is no where near as potent in taste as the powdered form. There were plenty of other ingredients to allow the garlic to blend in. (The 8 quart pan was about 3/4 full when finished).

We love garlic, too. Our youngest loves it so much that when I'm chopping it, she wants to have a clove of her own that she can just sniff! lol Crazy kid. So there's no such thing as too much garlic at our house!

Love it here too.....but sometimes it doesn't love me so much.

3 big cloves of garlic is a lot of garlic.....that is usually the amount I put in my spaghetti sauce in a full larger size crock pot.

Yea, it blends in with the other stuff so I know what Lilly means, but the proportion sounded on the high side.

I just wanted to check before I tried it....it looks like a great recipe.
