Wal-Mart Saves The Average Household $2500
« on: October 03, 2007, 02:18:39 PM »

Have you seen the commercial that says Wal-Mart saves the average household $2500 a year?

I bet they will need some of that back now LOL!

READ THE STORY HERE

Have you ever worked through a break and your employer said they wouldn't pay you?

One of my previous employers would get mad when I punched in 2, yes 2 minutes late even though I would work for 10's of hours over each month... their excuse "we never asked you to stay late..."

I don't shop at China-Mart, so I don't get the 'savings'.  I guess I'm not an 'average' household.

The way they treat their employees is just one reason why I don't like spending any money there.

I'm really sick of all the Wal-Mart bashing. My family and I LOVE Wal-Mart and, yes, we save a lot of money by shopping there. Their prices are great, employees are courteous, shelves are always restocked promptly.

I applaud Wal-Mart for their success, and I think other retailers are just jealous. I also think there is the snob factor involved: some people look down their noses at Wal-Mart (because of their low prices) and at people who shop there.  Hey, think of all the jobs the mega-successful Wal-Mart Corp. provides for people! People must  not hate to work there that much or else Wal-Mart would never be able to hire anyone. So, knock off the sob stories. If you work there and don't like how you're being treated as an employee - QUIT.

And my family and I will just keep on shopping there . . .

I get so sick of this Some people also look down their noses at those who shop at Wal-Mart, as if they are some low-class people or something.  Other busineess probably have a problem with Wal-Mart because they're jealous of Wal-Mart's successI think it's popular for other businesses to pick on Wal-Mart because they are so successful, so some people look down their nose at others there is just some jealously involved because Wal-Mart is so successful. As for complaints about how they treat their employees, IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, DON'TWORK THERE!! other retailers are just jealous and have to nit-pick about everything.

You obviously haven't seen the documentary on Wal-Mart. My grandma was of the same persuasion as you until she saw the film. Now she won't step foot into the place. All Walmart bashing is most definitely justified.

I would never look down my nose at people who work at Walmart or those who shop there, but the business practices of the company are deplorable.  People who need josbs cannot just up and quit especially here in Monroe.  Where else would they work?  Yes, Walmart does provide jobs and low prices and I have shopped there when all else fails, but the public needs to know what their business practices are.  The film suggested here is a good one and should be seen.  :(

I like the photo-developing for Wal-Mart. I like the way their pictures look. It's pretty much the only place I get pictures done. I've always been happy with the service there.

What ever your position is regarding Wal-Mart, this is kind of cute:

They don't mention Wal-Mart by name, but it sure is implied.  I think it's worth the download.   :D

You know there is corruption in all retail chains.  Some just don't get the notariety(sp sorry if this is wrong)  that Wal mart gets.  I will admit to shopping there because I need to save money.  It may only be pennies sometime but that adds up.  I used to work for another retailer and would only shop their out of loyalty.  The only reason I saved money was the discount I got.  With out the discount I probably would have shopped at walmart then too.  Most of these places want to pay their workers less to do more work.  Hard to feed and cloth a family on that.

I used to shop at Walmart until about two months ago when a cashier asked me if she could explain the new alcohol policy (I had a six-pack of beer and my fifteen year old with me) to me.  I said, "sure".  Well according to their new policy, if someone buys alcohol, everyone in the party that looks over 16 has to be ID'd.  If all persons are not over 21, alcohol cannot be purchased.  I was dumbfounded.  I asked the lady, "so Walmart will assume that parents are buying their children alcohol if they are shopping with them?  Since when does a retailer tell me how to parent my children?  I was livid, I didn't have time to find a manager, just decided to take my beer money elsewhere.

Wal-Mart sells beer?

What a stupid rule. They will probably start carding to buy condoms too.

If you have an hour and a half to kill, and want to get REALLY angry...

did any one watch this video?  I dont have an hour and half to watch this (is it really that long? or am i too trusting?)  If you watched it and it is long would you mind giving me a short version of it?

I HATE going to the Walmart supercenter here.  Yes I can get groceries, socks and a rake all in one trip but geez o petes...the workers in the one where I live are so slow and the store is so unorganized.  for example...sidewalk salt in the winter is located in automotive - while windshield wiper fluid is in center isle by crafts, clarence items are in last row of toys - except for clerance toys they are in home and garden.

Once my poor mother was looking for Gold Bond foot powder - she asked a girl stocking shelves in pharmacy by the powder there where it was -  and she sent my mom to cosmetics. (moms eyes aren't what they used to be)  I was with my mom but shopping in another area.  I caught up with poor mom looking all over for Gold Bond.  We went back to pharmacy and the same girl that my mom had asked was still in the same place still stocking the same display. I'll give ya all 3 guesses as to what she was stocking......YEP...Gold Bond.   TRUE TRUE STORY!
