The Red Wings got stiffed in the All-Star voting. No one from Detroit will start.
I posted some thoughts in The Press Box blog. Here is a link:

I just read your blog - stiffed is not the word for the fact that we do not have at least 3 going -

I have never liked the voting for the All-Star game.  It needs to be done by stats and by players/managers IMO.

And for an added note from me.....I think Sidney Crosby is way over rated.

This seems to happen to us every year. However when the coaches and players fill out the rest of the roster I'm sure we'll have 3-5 guys on the team.

No All-Star game starters from any first place team in the NHL! The Neanderthal fans who vote for their favorite players should at least watch a few games so they know who is having a good season.
I wish the fan vote would only count 1/3 rd. Players and coaches the other 2/3 rds.

That sounds like a perfect plan.

Yeah I have trouble agreeing with that as well. The kid was highly touted, but he has lived up to the expectations.

Don't get me wrong I love CC's enthusiasm and I think pretty much the entire all star game could be a Red Wings inter-squad scrimmage. But Crosby has been good and maybee even lived up to the hype thus far.

Ok cc here to explain her Crosby remark - dont want ya' all hatin' on me   lol

Maye it's the way media has pushed him at us.  They make him to look as if he is the only talented young player in the league - and with all the hype around him I bet some of his team mates are rolling their eyes too.

I just pulled this off espn:    http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/players/profile?playerId=3114

Player News (last updated: January 6, 2009)
News: Crosby hasn't collected a power-play point in nine games, a span that includes 43 minutes and seven seconds on the man advantage.
Spin: With 25 penalty minutes in the last two games, he's become Sid the Ferocious. Crosby, who has a plus-rating in only one of his last 11 contests, will turn things around. All fantasy owners can do is wait.

I am not saying he isn't a good player.

We'd never hate on you, when I said "Ouch" I meant it in a say what you really mean kind of way. I couldn't agree more the guy gets alot of hype. Since he isn't a Wing I don't pay much attention to him. As long as he doesn't win a cup he's got noth'in in my book.

My wife is watching a chick flick on the big screen - I was forced to google until I found it.  I actually dig this - watching it online is pretty fun.  I swear I'm going to get rid of cable soon.. I keep finding the shows I want to watch online!
