Nothing all that surprising, but a friend of mine who lives on LaPlesiance (SP?) road had his car/house/garage broken into last weekend.

The guy broke into the garage, opened his car, put everything from the car in a large bag and then walked through the attached garage into the house, where my friend was still awake and watching TV.  The guy just set the bag down, sat down on the couch and attempted to strike up a conversation with my friend.  He then couldn't figure out how to get out of the garage fast enough to avoid the cops when they were called.

Looks like we've got some more "local talent" to add to the list...

of all the places to try to grab and steal a handful of cash...

I would have to think a bank would be the last one...

I guess the only comfort is you know the tellers wont shoot you :-\ :-\ :-\

From the MEN website: http://www.monroenews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100622/NEWS01/706229995

FRENCHTOWN TOWNSHIP – Investigators are on the trail of a bank robber who snatched cash from a teller Monday afternoon at a Flagstar branch in a strip mall across from Walmart.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Detective Dave Davison said this morning he was in the process of tracking down a suspect.

“We have him identified,” Detective Davison said.

Today a warrant was issued naming Joseph E. Neville, 27, of Monroe as the suspect.

On Monday shortly before 4 p.m. a man walked into the branch on N. Telegraph Rd. and stood there for a moment. A teller asked if he needed help when the robber suddenly reached over the counter and grabbed a handful of cash that was being counted by another teller.

The man then ran out the door and got into a 1996 dark green Jeep Cherokee and sped off. Before he pulled away, bank employees were able to get a license plate number. The suspect did not try to conceal his identity, said nothing to the tellers and did not imply that he had a weapon, said Detective Brian Sroka.

Detective Davison said the suspect has had prior police contact, but he was not believed to be involved with other bank robberies.

There were four employees in the bank and no customers at the time of the robbery. At the bank after the incident, a sign was posted on the glass door notifying customers that the branch was temporarily closed. It reopened this morning.

An FBI agent was at the scene to assist in the investigation.

Looking from what I have read so far that Luke Davis should be included as a candidate.  It is beyond arrogance that he thought he could get by with this, dumbness is more appropriate.

I won't be surprised if we don't hear even more allegations before it's all over :-\ :-\ :-\

I read the article, this part is even more hilarious.
Quote
My son was coping brilliantly with the trauma of losing his belongings — until he saw the invasion of his Facebook page. That's when the pathetic indignity of the burglary hit. Here was a space that my son had carefully walled off from public view, limiting access to his page to his friends and schoolmates. And now a lowlife stranger was taunting him in that presumably private zone.

This one is really strange...

Man finds credit card someone else has lost so he decides to use it...

Nothing out of the ordinary...   I'm guessing that happens every day somewhere...

The pizza was about $40 and the man that found the credit card had $250 cash in his pocket when he got busted still eating the pizza....

And he was a well known dentist with a net worth of $3-4,000,000.00 :o :o :o

Another case of truth being stranger than fiction ;) ;) ;)

Here is a contender for ya!

Courageous Teller Asks Bank Robber for Two Forms of ID

http://jobs.aol.com/articles/2011/03/16/courageous-teller-asks-bank-robber-for-two-forms-of-id/?ncid=txtlnkuscare00000002

A Dallas Wells Fargo bank teller risked her life and thousands of dollars on a bet that a robber at her window would be stupid enough to comply with her request that he show two forms of identification.

But sure enough, her bet paid off! The robber, 49-year-old Nathan Wayne Pugh of Sachse, Texas, actually took the time to search through his pockets and wallet to produce the IDs -- which turned out to be his Wells Fargo debit card and a state ID card. Then the teller stalled even more by very slowly copying the information.

Thanks to her efforts, authorities had ample time to arrive on the scene.

Pugh was apprehended when he tried to flee the bank with $800. He was later found guilty of bank robbery and sentenced to an eight year prison term. He was already on parole for two other aggravated robberies.

There's no word on whether or not the teller was rewarded for her savvy risk. Regardless, she gets bragging rights and a great story to tell her kids.
