Muscle Confusion Workouts
« on: January 19, 2009, 03:51:52 PM »

Ok, I'm trying to get in shape and I keep hearing the buzz phrase "muscle confusion".  I'd love to be able to afford the P90X workout since it looks like it gives great results, but unfortuantely I can't jump up and down at 4am where I live and taking a mini DVD player to the gym would look stupid.  Does anyone have a good workout plan they mind sharing with me?  Basically I'd like to end up with the body of Matt McConaughey by summer.(yes ladies, I will look as hot as you think it will)  I'm also willing to change my diet so if there's any meal plans with recipies I'd love them.

A good start to that diet would be to push away from the cocktails at DBBC ;D ;D ;D

Wiskey and water only has 70 calories, no carbs, no sugars, and no sodium per serving, and is more potent than beer so I'm not too worried about that. ;D  Basically if I drink 10 7 and waters then I'm getting 700 empty calories that I will probably burn thoughout the night, especially in the summer.

What type of equipment do you have access to?

Are you training for general fitness or bodybuilding?

Any physical limitations?

How often can you train?

I was planning on joining a gym.  I'm going to take a tour of Powerhouse today and then on Thursday a place in Ann Arbor.  I really have no physical limitations besides the fact I'm 28 and about 20lbs over weight.  I was planning on training 3-5 days a week.  The only problem is my schedule.  I start work at 7am and I have class at night until 8:30.  I was wanting to hit the gym before work and since I work in Ann Arbor that means being to the gym by 4:15 to get a decent work out in if I'm using a gym in Monroe.  Basically I'm looking to not be embarrassed if I take my shirt off this summer if that helps you any.

Shagman...join me at MBC as it is less calories there.

I started P90X in March of 08 and man o man is it great.  I just started another round 1 week ago and I am in the full fledged good diet mindset right now.  No sweets a few cocktails and lots of protein like steaks and chicken.

P90X is no joke...it is 1 hour of serious exercize or lifting.  I can now do chinnups like nobodys business.

My wife just joined Powerhouse and I used to do that before P90.  Rich runs a nice place there if you need to get a membership.

What is MBC?

As for Powerhouse, I checked it out last night. To be honest I wasn't impressed.  The place was dirty and the guy giving me the tour, I'm assuming it was the owner, was very short with me.  I didn't feel like he wanted my business and was more concerned with getting back to his workout.  I'm going to check out the place that TMT suggested in A2 tomorrow. Either way, I want to start in the next week or so but I want to make sure that the gym I choose is the right one for me.  I'm also thinking of picking up a script to mens health.  I hear it has a lot of good nutrition plans and whatnot.

Ahhhh well I'd love to join you at MBC but I'm one of those people who hates to leave their own club.  It's cozy up at DBBC.

Exactly.  I only live 5 minutes from DBBC.  When you guys have your Regatta I may stop out.  Oh and I'm not an AYC member so I actually can't get into your club without being signed in by one of your members.
