He's got my vote for OxyMoron of the year.  An ignorant-college educated man.  He'd probably be the biggest defender of any sexual predator/offender that's been pointed out in the school saying, "well...they haven't touched any little girl in THIS school...so he's innocent until he does!"  He'd rather convict AFTER the fact rather than help aid any prevention. THAT'S what's scary.  I'm also scared for any child that enters his class.  Parents beware!

Our future generations need to be able to learn it's ok think freely and draw their own conclusions about things and NOT be condemned for personal opinions.

That's exactly what I keep telling people on here.

I'd save that patting for another time..... because if you would have read my post, then this statement wouldn't exist. Unless of course, you're just as closed minded as most people I come in contact with....

As for the children born into poverty.... I am one of them. I was born into a household with an abusive father, of whom my mother got rid of, and then us three kids, plus my mother, lived on less than $8,000 a year. Yes, we received food stamps. Yes, we were in subsidized housing. My mother couldn't work, she was disabled. Does that make her stupid, NO.

We didn't ask for that life, but I thank God everyday for it! I didn't turn out like the spoiled brats who had the world handed to them on a silver platter. I learned at an early age to be responsible when it comes to money. Yes, sometimes we had to rob Peter to pay Paul, but just about everyone nowadays understands that. My mother ALWAYS found a way to make sure that there was food on the table, clothes on our bodies, and a roof over our head. Did we get the newest and greatest things? No. But again, I'm very thankful for that.

My mother, even though we were WAY below poverty level, made sure we were taken care of. So don't go and classify and lump everyone dealing with that, together. It's not the same.

But again, if you're closed minded.... then you won't be able to see that. Thankfully, my mother brought me up right.

Thanks ATG.. I watched Nancy Grace the other night.. she was going on about the other case.. she was talking about the baby sitter that stole the baby...

Intersting though... she was appalled that someone would Take a Baby on public transportation and how dangerous that was..  I thought to myself... this woman has never been around poor people...  Here where I live many people are too poor to own cars... I ride the bus... sometimes if there is an event going on downtown and I know parking will be awful... or when I fly out.. I don't use long term parking... I take the bus..  I see many people with their children and 3 month old babies ride the buses here.. they have noway else to get to point A to point B...

I would love to take people on a reality check... let them meet the people.. sometimes people just don't understand how we are all delt a hand of cards... we have to play the cards we got.. It was not always steak at our house... when lay offs would come.. I remember eating a lot of treat and taters.. (Cheaper than spam) and laundry sandwiches... (peanut butter with Kayro syrup or whatever else you could find) I had it better than my sisters because my parents were in their 30's when they had me..

We need to reinstate the death penalty in every state.  Maybe if the punishments were a little more harsh people wouldn't be so apt to make such horrible, heinous crimes.  People are more daring these days, because well...let's admit it, they have rights.  But in my eyes when someone takes the rights away from others by way of adbuction, terrorizing, murder...they have forfeited their own rights and now have none.  Why should they spend time in jail on the states bill eating 3 squares a day, getting an education or furthering theirs, making money in a jail job and even getting recreational time.  Do you really want to keep paying taxes for child molesters and murderous thieves to get out and repeat their offenses?

I think Michigan has never had the death penalty or it ended in 1857... Look at the crime statistic for Louisianna, Texas, and Florida.. all death penalty states with high murder rates... Then tell me if it is a deterent.. The answer would be no... Capitol Punishment is not a deterent.. and as for tax payors.. who pays for the segregated cells... all the appeals.. all the stays of execution... and then factor in how many people have been put to death, who were later found to be innocent.. One is too many... Again.. people who commit such crimes do not think of the consequences... and you just may kill an innocent person.

That's exactly what I keep telling people on here.
You're the first and foremost to condemn any of us for what we think when we speak out.  When you do that to a child you cause them to learn it's better to not speak out but to keep things inside. Your outspoken, opinionated manner is a hinderance to others.    But again, you'll learn that as you grow and mature.  In your college classes you should have learned that as we go through life and live...we reach different levels of maturity.  You are still at the beginning stages of that.  Believe me, once you reach 30 (I'm assuming you're not since your profile shows 23) you will realize how much you have changed from your early 20's. It just keeps going from there. Sorry ...off topic....I came to see if there was any new news of the real case here.

AtypicalGirl......you go on saying that I'm still wrong in my way of thinking.  However....you're saying that your MOTHER (I'm assuming biological) brought you up right.  So are you saying that your mom was a better mother than Jenny Buchanan?  Or are you actually still putting yourself on her level? Your mother was obviously just that....a MOTHER, who loved you and cared for you enough to raise you up the right...to raise you herself at all.  So why are you still defending a woman who cared more about herself and her selfish desires to ignore her own obligations of being a responsible parent??  And if you read my other posts on what I believe "stupid people" are formed from...you'd see my point.  You're taking my statements out of context and YOU'RE making yourself out to be grouped with the "stupids", Not I.   No matter what...I still find it completely irresponsible, lack of judgement and selfish to bring a child into the world if you are not prepared...mentally, physically, emotionally, and monetarily.   Do you really think the OctoMom could take care of her brood without the help of outsiders?  NO...that is a selfish way of thinking.  And more than likely with "mother" like Jenny...her daughter would probably have grown to realize what a piece of crap her mother is and no doubt ended up hating her. No doubt in my mind.

No, I'm taking them the way I read them. If you desire for people to understand your way of thinking, then maybe you should articulate what you're trying to say.

And again, as I said before, I'm not 'defending' anyone... Unlike some people, I don't judge someone just on a few facts, or what I see. I do not know that person, therefore I don't have a right to judge them. I don't know what they're going through, or what they've been through. I simply, do not judge.

People with free will are always going to make their own decisions...make up their own minds, no matter what the outside influences are.  Why do you think there are so many differen't opinions here.  Why do you think JB decided to ignore her duties as a parent?  NO ONE made her disregard her own daughter...she did it with her own free will.  So stating that we should let future generations learn to think freely is a moot point.  I've been condemmed for my opinions all along on here...do you think I care?  NO.  Do you think it changes my outlook and opinions?  NO.  Free opinions and thoughts don't need to be "encouraged" or "learned".  It's instinct.

For me it's not about it being a deterrent, it's about eliminating those too dangerous to be a part of society, and I'd rather not pay for their room and board in a prison...
