I know you have probably been over it and over it, and I am sorry but I can't bear to read back through any of the previous pages, so can anyone tell me where I can watch the press conference this morning?  I would prefer to watch it online if that is possible.

I can post what I like, but thanks for the concern.

Yes, you can post "anything" you like, "anywhere" you like, "anytime" you like...

but this is not the thread and especially not the time for political quips...

I think Big Red Dog was not trying to be thread police (JMO).  I think he was kindly letting some know that we do have political sites that may or could be helpful.  I don't know BRD but from what I have seen he is not that kind of person...just sayin

Also, I just wanted to say this, its too late for Nevaeh now but maybe these apartment complexes will start providing children residents and actually playground or place to play besides the parking lot?  I have lived in my fair share of apartment complexes and no there are no swings no nothing except for maybe a basketball hoop???  There is always going to be a need for apartments and complexes so why not invest in the kids safety?  This has always bothered me.  I lived in an apartment complex who shall remain nameless when my youngest was about 14...they had NOTHING for any age group to do yet bitched when I bought a portable hoop for the neighbor kids to play with.

Susan.. I am sure the gov will release a statement.. Even the high profile cases here do not get the attention of the Governor.. they like to keep down the publicity so LE can do their jobs..

Do you know what the laws are?  A lot of times there are laws on the books, but are not used.  Another thing with children, sometimes a plea deal is the only way to get the conviction.  you have issues with the age of the child, the family reluctance to put them through a trial, so a lot of these cases are plead out.

I do say, the registery could be better.. one thing the registery does have is a tip line and this is where the community comes in.. I lived two houses from a SO for 16 years..

So are offenders to stay away from children altogether.. the website should say that like.. 100 yards from playgrounds, schools, etc..  if that is part of the condition.. so if there is a SO and you see them near a kid.. use the tip line they have that part.. just don't know about the contact conditions..

if you go to the site you will see the button to report someone if they are doing suspicious activity.. we are citizens and we needs to inform ourselves and report people..

I recently read where members of a community severely beat a man who had been identified as someone who raped an 11-year-old.  They beat him so badly he was near death when he arrived at the hospital.  The child had to have surgery due to the brutal rape.
That was in Philly, The police chief is NOT bringing charges and is willing to take the heat over it. He said that this area that the rape occured was a bad area. And it was good to see people wanting to get involved. So the "perp" got a little crack in his head, they said what he did to the 11 year old could'nt even be aired. And this "perp" is involved in 3 other rapes in the area. Not saying that should happen in this case. But I understand their motives. People are tired of Laws that protect the criminal and few rights for the victims or their families. Case in point, Little Nevaeh. she is gone, Her family will suffer for the rest of their lives. The killer will get to go to prison. Big deal. They will put them in couseling, give them access to free legal help, feed them, clothe them, free medical care. They have access to the law library. They work and get paid for it. They will appeal, appeal, appeal. All at our expense.I bet Nevaeh appealed too.

Thank you very much!  My heart goes out to Navaeh of course, but to everyone else here who like myself have spent many hours doing what could be done.  I hope our community stays so close, and pulls together to accomplish other things.

Susan I can tell you that when whoever did this gets to prison his/her life is going to be miserable.  I dont know this first hand but I do know someone that spent a lot of time in prison.  They told me the correctional officers put the word out on the nature of his/her crime so trust me, they will be dealt with.  Of course not in a way that I think they should be dealt with but at this point in time I dont care as long as they suffer each and every day they are alive.  Bubba and his buddies (or Bubbette) is going to tear that *** up trust me on that.

I didn't gossip at all on these posts before, but I heard that Neviaeh hid in a car and locked the doors on a prior occasion because she didn't like the people visiting her mother. Her mother said she was a chatty little girl. At 5 years of age little Neviaeh may have said that "She was going to tell..." With an apt. complex full of druggies the little girl just didn't know how bad the consequences would be. The naivete of children is that they still believe good will always conquer evil, and that someone will come to the rescue. They are not old enough to know reality and develop cynicism.

God doesn't just recall old people or the sick. What type of place would that be for Him? We do not own our children. The Lord has the right to surround Himself with a variety of the souls He created. And they could not be in a better place. When we mourn, we should mourn those left behind and grieving, and those children stuck on earth with its growing evil. Neviaeh on the other hand is witnessing pure glory. The ugly moments of her end were a flash compared to an eternity of happiness, peace, and security. Picture her walking hand in hand with God never suffering for anything again.

In efforts to speed up usability of the site, we are locking this current thread.   We have created a new thread called:  AMBER ALERT!!!! Monroe Mi - 2 - which can be found here:   http://monroetalks.com/forum/index.php?topic=13806.0

Please continue the conversation there.   The slowness users have been experiencing and reporting could be related to the thread having so many pages and posts.    This thread can still be accessed and viewed by users and guests.     Thank you all for your patience.
