I just wanted to let everyone know the site is experiencing extremely high traffic volumes this week and you may experience database errors or other errors.   

When you receive an error, simply hit the F5 key or the reload/refresh button on your browser.   The site should come right back up.   

A few months ago we upgraded our servers to the highest dedicated server package available, and since, everything has been running fine.    Our average daily unique users have been ranging from 800 to 1000.  This past week it's been 4,000 daily average unique visitors with close to 30,000 daily pageviews.   This huge spike in traffic is the cause of the periodic errors. 

We are talking with our hosting company and will be making necessary updates to the software/server to try and remedy these errors.     Thank you for your patience.

Totally understandable.  There is no way to predict something like this, or the need for temporary server capacity.

We have disabled the warning when someone else posts to the thread ahead of you.   It looks like this may be causing more database errors, however, the site doesn't look like it's going to crash anytime soon.   

If you get an SMF database error, simply refresh your browser - the site should come right back up.   Please PM Admin if you experience too many errors and we can re-enable the warning function.

You're getting databases errors because your MySQL is over loading.

Default MySQL connections is 200, As you can see 180+ are accessing the site and resulting in database errors because of the MySQL configuration.

Login into SSH via root;

nano /etc/my.cnf

Add:

Code: [Select]

max_connections = 500

Press: CTRL+W (write); Then y (yes); Then Enter; (Saves Changes)

service mysql restart

This will increase your MySQL Connections.

I hate to break it to you, but you USED to have an average of about 50,000 page views per day back in December.
