I'll bet there is a Subcommittee of Automobile Design at government motors.

If you mean a design team at GENERAL MOTORS, surprise, every car company has one. Or did you think the Patriotic CEO of Ford just poops them out before breakfast?

Then why are there charts that show where we get our oil from (percentage and country)?

I would imagine because certain countries produce more oil than other countries.

I could show you all day long, and you wouldn't believe me.  And what makes you think there's only enough for 10 years?

Show me.

My 10 years comment would be if we shut off our borders to buying foreign oil and coal.

I could care less about short term from a political standpoint.  We can wean off oil, it's just going to take time.  It will happen.  Why must the govt. force it upon us?

Because the population at large has an attention span of about 9 months, and corporations have an attention span of one quarter.

Raising mpg (again) is reasonable?  The govt. forces it upon the auto companies.  Who pays for all the r&d.  Not the govt. (well, they will be now, thanks to gm.)

Poor babies, having to not make soot-belching cars. I weep for them every night, I truly do.

Keep on coming back for the lulz, cause you sure do provide them.

personally...i dont see a rush hour in this area. monroe, detroit or toledo...not like chicago anyway.

a train or bus will not help me in my job. i need a car...and its an 07 focus...not a hummer!

to hell with their new taxes...they got us in this mess...let them get us out of it with no new taxes!!

Well, there sure is ALOT more traffic around town on the weekends or say 5pm than if ya go shopping in the morning! I would have to say IMO that M50 intersection @ Telegraph stinks as well as Stewart Rd.
