Common Sense
11 July 2010, 9:18 am

We’ve been living through a heat wave in the Midwest which recently broke. That’s not unusual. What is unusual is the silence from climate change skeptics who were out in force during the pervious snowy winter. Folks like Republican Senator James Imhoff built an igloo on the capital hill and labeled it Al Gore’s New [...]

Zombie Politics

The Republican Party was in a shambles after the election of Barak Obama in 2008. The American voters had roundly rejected the Bush administration and indicated that they trusted Obama and the Democrats to lead us out of the financial crisis caused by Bush policies. It was in this crucible that leaders of the Republican [...]

The Kids are Alright
25 July 2010, 10:04 pm

Conservatives and Tea Party advocates are fixated on the size of the deficit. They claim the government is consigning us and future generations to indentured servitude by irresponsible spending. They have been successful in frightening those inclined to distrust the government to begin with by talking about government fiscal policy within the context of a [...]

More evidence today from Princeton and Moody’s documenting that government actions to stimulate the economy are accomplishing their goals. A depression was averted and the economy is recovering. They don’t support continued massive spending, but they do support continued relief for the jobless as a direct form of ongoing stimulus. They peg the total cost [...]

Keep voting Republican There is a strange amnesia that seems to affect voters during midterm elections. There is no doubt that we have problems, but we also have a government that has been hamstrung by partisan politics of the worst sort. Republicans are hoping that voters will have such a sort memory that they will [...]

Toxic Waste
9 August 2010, 9:41 pm

Democrats introduced a $7.4B bill to provide care for the first responders who have fallen ill because of their exposure to toxic chemicals at the World Trade Center site. In keeping with President Obama’s pledge to pay for new expenditures with either spending cuts or new revenue, Democrats proposed closing a tax loophole that multinational [...]

America is an odd place full of contradictions, imperfections, high ideals, and low morals. We’ve got Tea Partiers who want to return us to strict constitutional rule, but are unwilling to embrace the parts of the document which they disagree with. Like the parts which provide citizenship to every person born here or guarantee the [...]

What does this heading mean?

Politics from a progressive Christian perspective

Is this the continued preaching of today's popular message of tolerance?, just in time to sweep the ecumenical emerging church movement into voting for more of this same Judeo-Christian ethic which has been nothing but open hypocrisy for decades now?

I guess every open & repeated violation of the ten commandments by our 'Christian' politicians is just passe nowadays; it fits well with the ALSO 'minority' gay agenda that can lawfully force the professing Christian churches to not hurt their feelings...and the democratic majority can FORCE us to live with the compromise...and lawfully make us unable to quote scripture, or preach a sermon condemning immoral behaviors and other sinful prideful attitudes that God hates.

This progressive Christian society you endorse enjoys it's existence in totally dismissing Christ's teaching about that 'narrow way', that satisfies in real time, a person's need to know that they will in fact enter into Heaven upon death; that "narrow way" that Jesus said 'few' find(Matthew 7:13-14)

How much immorality, lies, and deceit should any Christian voter tolerate from their representative?  It's a good thing for today's politicians that most 'progressives' remain willingly ignorant of the Word of God; so they do not KNOW how to be a good 'fruit inspector' of other professing Christians "in high places" - it also works quite well to the benefit of the politicians and fascists ruining our economy at record pace because progressive Christians also tend to quickly crumble, and give undue respect to their human equals who WORK FOR US - as they are totally unprepared to give an answer to those that would frequently misuse that famous quote from Matthew 7:1 that says "judge not".

Proverbs 24:21 reads - My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change:

That Hebrew word for 'meddle' implies we are NOT to intermix with them who are given to change - i.e. PROGRESSIVE Christians; who basically run the literal Word of God they claim to believe, through the shredder(and behave like a scribe in making their emotional arguments to not be dogmatic about God's demands for biblical repentance in order to be saved from the consequences that one's own sin account will bring to pass in this life, and immediately afterwards).

Do you really think that God is ever so flexible with his moral dictates?  Why do so many just flippantly cite themselves as followers of His Son's teachings, when they they do not even know them; let alone REFUSE to receive them as they are written?

Progressive Christians simply refuse to acknowledge that lying, deceptive, and skillful Christians are responsible for the demise of our morality in our culture and politics.  They get away with this because professing Christians have ignored Paul's command to walk this way; Ephesians 5:15-16  See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,(16) Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Christians just don't want to do the HARD work that has been placed before them.  So many won't acknowledge that the time for a RADICAL moral change has come upon us as a nation.  In willful ignorance, they subscribe and eat up your progressive thought patterns, which is the EASY WAY OUT...and as they will continue to vote for the 'lesser of two evils' - which is still a vote for MORE evil; we ALL suffer!

Before you try to split hairs over citizenship, and rip on the Tea Party movement(the majority of whom doesn't necessarily want Christ's laws affecting their politics either); know this ... they are respectfully trying to educate people; and they are advocating a return to a more Constitutionally honest period of goo government - BEFORE we were branded by the 14th Amendment as 'citizens' and 'persons', which then allowed the government to tax the fruits of our LABOR that we OWN - which came with the 16th Amendment.

Because the Tea Party folks are thinking folks, who can spot a LIAR when they see one in Republican clothing...I continue to run with them!

On a personal level; it is real simple - willful partial obedience to the Word of God, is actually disobedience.  How much WORSE is this disobedience when the professing Christian already KNOWS better?

I would submit to you that better than 95% of all professing Christian politicians in today's fiscally bankrupt houses of government STILL conduct their business this way...through willful acts of compromise...and this is KILLING our future opportunities to enjoy any prosperity by this nation's posterity.

This government is supposed to be subservient to "We The People" - and since "We The People" don't want God's moral standards in our post-religious(progressive) society, we're just going the aggressively, self-serving, no-growth, socialist way of Europe.

America, financially, is already bankrupt as a nation; and the world knows it - and this is primarily the FAULT of the professing church in America who have LIKED your progressive line of thinking for a whole generation now.  And we see the evidence of this as we watch them choose their politicians accordingly; taking their instruction from progressive Pastors desperate to hold onto their jobs through appeasement and bread and circuses; as well as the individuals who make up their congregations whose ONLY concern when it comes to voting is serving their own self-interests.

Progressives, in the professing Christian church, only exemplify and export COMPROMISE to the rest of the watching world - and they enthrone man's ever-changing, convenient, and perpetually sliding standards for morality; which are not God's standards found in the Bible(which are mostly black and white, and still VERY unpopular; as they were when Jesus walked the Earth!).

God doesn't change; and nor do His Laws.(Malachi 3:6) - but we are still free to choose NOT to "deal with it".

According to the great preacher J. Vernon McGee; nation's fall in this ORDER:
(1) Spiritual Apostasy
(2) Moral Awfulness
(3) Political Anarchy

America is already at NUMBER 3 - and I've learned the hard way over the past two years how irrelevant most professing Christian voters think the first two really are; as it pertains to my never-ending argument that understanding and having Bible knowledge is essential to actually being a Christian.

This Muslim mosque thing is a NON-issue...there are no "sacred sites" anywhere in America...secondly, being humane to 'illegal immigrants'(or any immigrant regardless of country or religion of origin) is a whole different topic - because our Declaration of Independence says "all men are created equal" - meaning there is a Creator higher than Caesar.  Christians and Muslims can work side by side in America, and openly discuss the attributes of the Creator in a FREE marketplace of ideas ... that is what is supposed to happen ... trying to manufacture this divide is further exacerbated by your attempt to criticize Tea Party folks intolerant of Muslims.

The time has come to acknowledge that these crises' were manufactured many moons ago, just so the 'elite' could break the back of this nation through their divide and conquer game using both man-made systems of religion and their little class warfare game(which American churches ALSO participate in)...which is what all politicians and charlatans do best...pick winners and losers in the marketplace, and help to centralize government power in order to CONTROL free independent people, who are oftentimes intellectually superior and more knowledgeable than they are on most all things deemed 'humane'.

Show Me the Money
26 August 2010, 9:33 pm

The current conservative narrative is that the budget deficit is the result of irresponsible spending by the Obama administration. The primary message of the Republican Party for November is that they are the responsible party and will return fiscal discipline to the federal government. There is a bit of truth in that claim. They ARE [...]

Peacemaker Deficit
31 August 2010, 8:37 pm

Toss all the bums out. This is the simple solution for a government that doesn’t appear to be working.  This solution, though, is based on the assumption that those elected to take their place will do a better job. My view is that the ideological divide that we see preventing progress in our government accurately [...]

The Unknown God

“For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.” Acts 17:23 Paul found the Greeks far too superstitious.  They had altars for every conceivable deity plus one catch all to cover anything that they [...]

Immigration and Homosexuality Lou Dobbs and Meg Whitman who have both taken strong stands against illegal immigration are themselves both guilty of employing illegal immigrants. The latest data also documents that the number of illegal immigrants in this country has dropped dramatically since 2008 because demand for their labor has decreased. So the whole narrative [...]
