Perrysburg Kroger shopping cart May 27
27 May 2011, 2:27 pm

If you have plans to shop the super double coupon promotions at Kroger in Perrysburg, Ohio, just off I-75, I suggest you do that soon. How to deal with out-of-pocket expenses during a water emergency
28 May 2011, 6:56 am

Bottled water is food stamp friendly
28 May 2011, 6:07 pm

The City of Monroe water advisory that affected nearly 48,000 customers in the Monroe, Mich., area was canceled this morning. But a reader question on one of the previous water emergency posts is worth bringing up for future reference: Does food stamps pay for bottled water? I had to look at my grocery receipts to [...]

Before there were coupon blogs, there were newspapers
28 May 2011, 8:43 pm

How did your mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers follow the grocery sales in the days before coupon blogs? They used newspapers. You’re looking at a page from the Aug. 19, 1948, edition of The Monroe Evening News, Monroe Mich. This happens to be among the newspaper-related artwork that is around our building.

I normally do a short post to remind the couponers on the holiday weekends that there are weeks in which the coupon companies do not schedule the Sunday newspaper inserts. We’ll go into more detail today to explain the situation to rookie couponers who are just getting started on their routines. You did not get [...]

Power outages May 29 in Monroe MI
29 May 2011, 10:23 pm

Yes. That storm that came through Monroe County, Mich., about 5:30 p.m. tonight – Sunday May 29 – resulted in a lot of power outages. The counts that my co-workers and I are adding up from the area electric companies puts the estimates at about 10,000 customers without power right now. I’m on breaking news [...]

We don't have the blog RSS feeds going to MT anymore.

I had to take the RSS feeds off my Facebook pages as well. Facebook thought the links were spam and wouldn't allow them. Rolling eyes.

Budget blog is still humming along. Recent topics include homemade jam, fashion on a budget, my craft room setups, and tips for those who need to seek out financial assistance.
