Flu Shots
« on: September 23, 2009, 12:07:41 AM »

Got yours? Not me.
I'm not the type that gets shots to prevent the flu.
It seems like you get the shot, you get sick.
Maybe not as bad as the flu itself but it seems that the shots are more expensive this year.

I only got the shot one year, a long time ago.  I was in a situation where I was likely to get it, as opposed to might.  I agree that it seems that people that get the shot get sick too, although maybe (not sure) not as sick.  I have my autistic grandson 3 1/2 days a week, he goes to school, and I am not a spring chicken.  I am considering it for this year because of that.  But, as of yet, have not decided.  I mean the regular one, not the pig one.

I am hearing that it cost $25.00 for the regular flu shot and probably the same for the swine flu shot.  Getting pricier.

Not opposed to flu shots...just never had any...nor have I needed one since I rarely ever get sick.

If I feel something coming on I just grab some zinc lozenges and I'm back to normal in a jiffy.

Although normal is relative.

I think age is catching up with me...unexplained pain that comes and goes plus my normal unrelenting headaches...had 'em for years...had every available test...the only thing that changes is the severity...ibuprofen is my friend...too bad it's bad for my stomach...can't have everything.

No flu shots for me anymore. I usually get the flu once a year and I know what to expect, so I will live with that. I got the shot a few years in a row and got sick with them each time anyway. Why pay the money for the shot, and get sick anyway? I didn't notice a difference in severity either.

Hell, sheeple: if you're that damn scared of "catching" something from some stranger it's a wonder you're not the least bit concerned with catching what is intentionally being included in the vaccines you're waiting with breathless anticipation to be injected into your sorry selves.  Those of us who outlive your shortened existences will have one thing only to say regarding your defective genes and psyches: good riddance.

I went to the doctor on Monday for my check up.

The nurse asked me if I wanted to get my flu shot, I said no, I do NOT want a flu shot.

After seeing the doctor, he said that he would be sending in the nurse to give me my flu shot along with my sign out sheet.

I said no, I do NOT want a flu shot.

The nurse came in, flu shot in hand.

I said no, I do NOT want a flu shot.

She thought I was joking around, and continued to get it ready.

I said "No, you don't understand I do NOT want a flu shot and I am NOT going to receive a flu shot, just give me my paperwork and I'm out of here."

I did NOT get a flu shot.

ONE year I DID get a flu shot, and I got so damn sick that I swear, at the time, I had wished I would just die.

I will NEVER EVER get another flu shot, they will have to shoot me with a bullet first.

I have been getting flu shots for about 5 yrs now due to illness.  So far (knock on wood(  I havent got sick but I got a pneumonia shot and hot damn.  Like fluffy I wanted to just die and get it over with.  This shot is supposedly good for oh I dunno 5-7 yrs and when you turn 62 u get another that is a lifetime shot.  I will continue to get the flu shot but never ever again will I get the pneumonia shot and will NOT get the swine flu shots.  I hardly think swine flu will kill me but if it does it does.  I'd much rather die form kidney failure.  Its virtually painless and you don't remember any of it if you survive.  lol That's the way I wanna go, which is painless.

I got the flu shot one year because it was offered for free through my work. I had a huge lump on my arm and 2 days later I was sick as a dog. HAHA

I also don't give blood anymore for similar reasons.

I've gotten one each year for probably 8 years, and haven't had the flu since I started getting them. I guess they work for me, and luckily for me, they are sponsored by my employer.

My employer has always offered them for free as well, so why not get one.

Okay I spoke too soon....sick runny nosed kids with occasional coughs were dropped off Saturday for my wife to babysit and the illness quickly spread to my wife and then to me.

Perhaps it's just a cold....everybody in the house had occasional nose running like someone opened a valve...the wife mostly has congestion...the baby has an occasional cough

And my sickness seems worse than the others....strange considering I'm usually the one that doesn't get sick.

I started shaking as if I were freezing and later I would be overheated....I awoke soaking wet for the past two days.

A slight pain that remained from a botched root canal has been amplified...the wife said the sinuses would do that.

The muscle pain has been amplified as well.

I started coughing stuff up this morning....my wife thinks it's a sign that I'm getting better.

My zinc remedy has failed me....a box of tissues has become my friend.

Yeah I doubt the flu shot would have helped but one never knows

Have been getting flu shots forever.  Were always free at employer and now Medicare pays, so why not.  Can't say that I've had the flu either.
