I ran across this today and recalled this conversation.

Kind of an interesting article.

Excerpt:
In the 1980s, New Ager and Task Force Delta psychologist Barbara Marx Hubbard (nominated for Vice-President at the 1984 Democrat National Convention) authored a 3-part book titled THE BOOK OF CO-CREATION, in which she revealed: “Out of the full spectrum of human personality, one-fourth is electing to transcend…. One-fourth is destructive [and] they are defective seeds… [who] must be eliminated from the social body…. Fortunately, you are not responsible for this act. We are. We are in charge of God’s selection process for planet Earth. He selects, we destroy. We are the riders of the pale horse, Death.” Thus, the plan seems to be eugenically to destroy those “defective seeds” who are not part of Hubbard’s New Age agenda for the future.

Creepy stuff.

Logic 101:

The Slippery Slope Fallacy:

If A happens, then by a gradual series of small steps through B, C,…, X, Y, eventually Z will happen, too.
Z should not happen.
Therefore, A should not happen, either.

Example:  If you have a drink, you may want another one.  If you have another one, you may have more.  If you have more, you may become drunk. If you become drunk, you may get into an argument.  If you get into an argument, you might get into a fight.  If you get into a fight, you might kill someone.  If you kill someone, you may have to go to prison for life.

Therefore, don't have a drink or you might have to go to prison for life.

There is a diversity of opinions among economists on the effects of population reduction or increase on national economic health. Some believe that reduction of the population is a key to economic growth. Others argue that population reduction should be focused on what they judge to be undesirable sections of the population (see Eugenics). Other economists doubt the correlation between population reduction and economic growth. Some economists, such as Thomas Sowell[15] and Walter E. Williams[16] have argued that poverty and famine are caused by bad government and bad economic policies, and not by overpopulation. In his book The Ultimate Resource, economist Julian Simon argued that higher population density leads to more specialization and technological innovation, and that this leads to a higher standard of living. Simon also claimed that if you look at a list of countries ranked in order by population density, there is no correlation between population density, and poverty and famine, and instead, if you look at a list of countries ranked in order by government corruption, there is a huge correlation between government corruption, and poverty and famine.
