Crown Battery in Fremont, OH. Doing business a "new" way...
« on: September 29, 2009, 05:49:43 AM »

I will definitely look for a Crown battery the next time I need to purchase a battery.

They bought a battery plant in Mexico and closed it up so they could move the production to the US...

They're expanding their production without taking tax credits or handouts from local government...

Hopefully this is the beginning of a new trend ;) ;) ;)

I've seen Crown batteries before in trucks or maybe something industrial

It looks like the closest branch is in Toledo

I remember seeing their place on Alexis Rd. between Telegraph and Lewis.  Now they're just off Benore Rd (literally just feet from Michigan it looks like)...

Here's a map link (I hope Flanders doesn't get upset again)...

Thanks for the map. I clicked on the street view and stumbled on a sign that says "Cash for junk batteries"

I have at least six worthless batteries around here....maybe it's time to see what they're worth

Years ago they were worth at least $2 and then it seems like that dropped...

You'd think with as popular as recycling has become that they would be worth more now.

Well I guess the batteries are not exactly worthless then.....I should have said bad batteries

Not worth making a special trip so I'll wait until I plan to be in the area and then check the current rates....Omni Source is nearby on Detroit Ave so they have some competition.
