We live in Michigan so who knows.....

The squirels in my neighborhood are busy, busy, busy!  I had one almost follow me in the house the other day because they know I give out peanuts ever so often.  Dropped some on the back porch and that little bugger was back and forth for about a half an hour burrying nuts in my yard and accross the street.

The Japanese lady bugs are starting to crawl into my house. Winter is soon. I think they nest in hives between the drywall and the exterior sheeting.Does  anyone know?

Sure sign of a harsh winter. Yep, about he warmest Nov on record.  Just listen to the weatherman, he'll let us know what the weather will be like for the next couple of months even though they can't tell you with any accuracy what it will do tomorrow.

I found this amusing tidbit in The Old Farmer's 2010 Almanac I bought last week regarding our current "Indian Summer" weather:

Quote
Indian summer may be bucking for promotion, but in the army of the seasons, promotion is slow.  These soft days are borrowed from the winter, and the winter will want its payment, with interest, soon enough.

emphasis mine  ;)

Ears of corn are high on the stalks.

Horses are eating as though it was already January.

Indications of lots of snow to me.  :(

Cat Lady is whacked.

All horses eat...and poop.

The placement of the ears is in direct relation the the type of hybrid planted.

It's not gonna snow until after Christmas.

Just ask MCRC.

It does mean we are not going to have an early one though.

I don't really care for either....I guess I really dont like the cold cuz when I grew up we just had a wood stove to heat the house and it would go out in the middle of the night then the pipes would freeze then no water etc etc. Just feels like the Winters go on forever and we dont have a spring and the summers have become very strange, any way I could go on and on.........LOL

I like it when it's cold outside, but sunny and bright, and I'm inside looking out, drinking a nice hot chocolate.

But other than that, I can do without it. Which is basically 99% of the time. LOL

Oh, yeah, I can relate!  At this stage in my career, if it's really snowy, I just stay home.  It makes it tougher to do chores but not as bad as the cold.  The worst is ice - don't drive on it, terrified I'll fall and break something, lose power (but with the whole house generator that really doesn't matter any more  :)).  I vote cold bothers me more than snow.
