Your theory is that people with money owe you something.  I consider it lazy, make your own money.  Get off your lazy butt and make your own way in the greatest country in the world.  Opportunity abounds.

Indeed, so move to the middle of nowhere and swear off the teats of tempting Socialist Infrastructure like roads and schools.

We have to take some poor rich person's money to pay for those things, after all.

Did your parents teach you that you are entitled to a certain amount of money?  What entitles you to anything?  If a person is working 70-80-90 hours a week then I am sure they have enough money to live "somewhat confortably".

You refuse to deine the rich gods...who are these rich people and if they worked hard for their money why is anyone, you or me, entitled to it?

When I made little to no money I lived in a trailer or apartment.  As life has moved on I have moved up.  If I made the decision to not better myself then I still live in a trailer or apartment.  That is a choice.  At what point does entitlement and redistribution of wealth kick in?

Are you entitled to a home?

Are you entitled to $9.00/hour?

Are you entitled to have cable TV?

Who should pay for it...people making $80,000....$100,000...$200,000?

At what point in time do people owe you money through government redistibution of wealth?

Lets face it, not everyone is cut out to be a rocket surgeon. ;)

Inevitably, there has to be someone on the bottom of the totem pole.

You ask "What makes you think that you are entitled to anything?"

I'll return your question with another.

What do you think that people who work 40 - 50 hours a week, be it the lowest paying job there is, what should their standard of living be?

Should they be at least able to afford an apartment, or a mobile home, or even a modest little home?

Should they be able to feed themselves and their children?

Should they be able to buy clothes, even if it is from the Goodwill?

Or does it not matter, as long as you don't have to pay taxes?

Taxes are always evil, you silly bunny. I don't care HOW many poor people I have to grind up to put in my gas tank.

...........Or does it not matter, as long as you don't have to pay taxes?

That is low, uncalled for and you know it.  I don't mind paying taxes, as long as the tax structure is fair.  The pillaging of those who make a certain amount is not fair.

What is minimum wage?  $7.50/hour?  $300 a week.  If you (not you, but somebody) have no skills, why would anyone pay more than minimum wage?  If a high school kid can do the job, why would the market pay more?

So that is $1,275/month.  Suggest those who CHOOSE this path in life get a roommate.

.....Should they be able to feed themselves and their children?....

I would say that it is irresponsible to have children when one makes very little money.  But then again it would be hypocritical for me to do so since my wife and I had a child when we could not afford to do so.  Although we did not qualify for assistance, there is a safety net in place for food and housing for families.  That stated at some point in time people need to take responsibility for their decisions.  And at some point in time folks need to realize that other people are not responsible for their lives.

In America we have many freedoms, we also have responsibilities to live within our means.

Been there and have done that when we were young.  Embarassing at first, but after awhile you find some really good stuff there.  Every six months we clean out stuff and donate it to Goodwill.  When we do it my wife still shops there.  She finds some very nice stuff.

Like I said earlier.........this is not fair.  I pay my taxes, but I am tired of the theory that people who make above average wages should pay for everyone else.  Hard work is supposed to pay off with rewards or no one would work hard.

I am very sure........blanks, no.  I do research in my occupation (you have heard of that...it is a job).

You and your offspring should research the job thing....when you are not at the county Holiday Inn.  Entitlements are great, although the bars are a nuisance.

So Misty, would you be for national health care if a flat tax were put in place?

On one hand you praise hard work, on another you don't.

Not everyone can go to college and earn a degree. Some people just aren't that smart. By dealing with people on this forum, you should at least realize that by now, unless you are too thick in the head.

With the attitude that you have shown here, it seems to me that you would be in favor of the old work houses, that provide nothing except room and board, and an 80 hour work week.

You act like every person who has money deserves the money that they got. Even the 17 year old kid whose dad went out and bought him a Ferrari for his birthday. What did the kid do to deserve that lifestyle other than be born into the right family?

What makes that kid, so much better than the guy who works 40 to 50 hours a week, busting his back, so that he can support his family?

You might not know him, because you could never look down that far, with your nose pointing as high in the air as it is.

Everyone else here knows who I'm talking about. The guy who has an IQ of 101 but has a heart 3 times that size. The one who was told that he makes too much money for assistance, but can't pay his rent.

I guess you are too good to be bothered with the likes of him, but I think that he should be able to at least provide for his family, if he is working.

Evidently that makes me a socialist.

So be it.

It seems we are once again back at the elitist Misty deciding that minimum wage is too much money for those darn lazy poor people that work 80 hours a week.  Obviously, in your mind, that make you one of the elites, rather than those poor working class people.  Is that why you want everyone after you d do less well?  Wages have been basically stagnant for at least a decade, while inflation was still going on.  Just so you understand, since you don't bother with everyday life of the rest of the people.  That means the bills go up and the paycheck doesn't go as far.

YOu brag that your life got better, but what about the family whose wges have not gone up, yet prices all have?  Your argument seems to sugggest that they deserve to be punished for taking those rich gods money.  After all, if their wages kept up with iflation, well, gosh, those rich gods would make the same amount to.  Can't have that.  Let those wages stagnate, then as inflation rises, well gosh, your rich gods do better.

I agree.  When I got a job working at Meijer Distribution Center in Newport back in '99 I was making a starting wage of $11.35/hr.  My brother worked there in '04 and his starting wage was $9.50/hr.  I thought wages were supposed to be going up not down.  Fortunately I have a much better job in a much better field right now.
