Went by Pilot on Nadeau Rd. and saw what looked like Arby's was being remodeled. Found out later that they was going out and Taco Bell was coming in.

Yep, I recently posted about it in the Salvation Army thread:
Arby's in the Pilot on Nadeau Rd has been closed for the remodel and reopening as a Taco Bell.

Some former employees were retained....some were offered employment at other locations to avoid paying unemployment.

Those chosen as managers had to travel to Missouri for training and the regular employees had to go to Findley for their training....I'm told on their dime but that doesn't sound right to me.

I've mentioned it prior to that as well...but not sure which thread...the search function didn't yield any results for "arby's"....maybe the admin removed my prior post.

Ok FF, I must have missed it. I haven't really read the SA thread much.

Just adding to it...I wonder how the lack of a drive-thru affected that Arby's location or if it will have any bearing on the success of the new Taco Bell.

I recall way back when that Arby's (Pilot location) wouldn't honor Arby's coupons.

It's possible the new Taco Bell there won't follow the National ad campaigns either.

I suspect the problem there wasn't the brand of restaurant...but the decisions of the management...in this case the Pilot Corporation.

If anything, after Arby's was to leave, I was thinking it would become a Subway like on N. Dixie.

Does anyone know about Don's Car Wash on N Monroe St?  They have been closed for at least 2 weeks.  Is this permanent?  Always did a lot of business with them.  So sad

Heard that Skateway is closing again.

And now it's for sale 'again'...

is roller skating a dying fad...  or is it just Monroe?

That's interesting...  you don't see to many party stores closing...  but when you do it seems like everyone that goes into the spot has a rough time making it.  I'm thinking of the little store and sometimes pizza shop out on Ida West road about a mile from US 23.  Not sure if it was the same people or not but Jim's has been there a long time!

We have talked about that Ida West place, too.   Wondered if it was the location?

I see Rivalrey's in Erie is closed up too.  I don't know when that happened, but this is the first I noticed it.

Is this the one that used to be called Pozy's Groceries?

Seems like that is one of the many, many names I recall there.

Sad.  I have great memories of getting "junk food" there when I was a kid and used to ride my bike to the MGCC to work as a golf caddy on the weekends.  :-( . .
