I am Catholic, born and raised.  I read the Bible and go to church.

And, I have also gone to school with, attended church with, volunteered with and generally been very good friends with five or ten gay men.  My wife has had the same experience in Wisconsin and in this state, too.

The gay community is certainly diverse, but my gay friends tend to be traditional people who want to find a significant other and either get married - in the churches and states that allow it - or at least have a long term productive life together.

These are good people who work hard, are moral and are devoted friends.  Most of my gay friends are in committed loving relationships.

So, I could sit here and not say anything because that's the politically correct thing to do in the State of Michigan right now.

But that would be wrong.

Someone has to get the word out that it is possible to be a) gay and b) a moral, honest, and even a good Christian.

So, I am not going to dispute what the Bible says.  I am not a Biblical literalist.  That is a cross that other people have to bear.

But I am going to say that the gay people I know probably follow more of it than most people I know.  And, personally, I think that they get a raw deal in current society.

Well, that being a good point and all, we still live in the world of "the laws of man"...We are governed by the laws that men make not God...Sure, you might pay a price when you die, but if you don't tote the line you will pay here...

It should be a personal choice who you wish to marry or not and not governed by laws that can be manipulated for personal reasons of politicians...

How long are we going to beat this into the ground and say the same things over and over...?

Obviously you  have studied very little of the Bible, and are going basically on what your have assumed from what you have heard of others or have been misguided into believing. The Bible was written for US today, in the present time of...NOW. Those who have an uderstanding are supposed to be a light unto those who do not...and stand for the TRUTH of God...not conform to what the popular OPINION is or what the MAJORITY wish them to speak...according to that majority. What YOU and everyone else wants and has created it a FEEL GOOD religion of your OWN BELIEFS...it is NOT backed up by the WORD of GOD.
   I personally do not know Christfollower and am not sure of his personal beliefs, but as far as I can tell from my many years of study and from that of others who dedicated their lives to the Truth of God's word, he isn't far off on the BASICS. He, like myself still must continuously study and reprove what we learn and be reproved by others...BUT...that does not absolve us from the responsibility to stand up for the WORD as far as our knowledge allows us to do. NOT doing so is TREASON towards GOD, who I believe is a higher AUTHORITY than YOU or any other man. So..before you speak in such high tones of condemnation..research what God says, not what your own personal knowledge dictates.
...Oh by the way..I don't have to physically SEE you to understand your body language...your ATTITUDE speaks very clearly of it.

Blah, blah, blah. I have studied enough of the bible to know that the true God is not in those pages. The true God(s) that have made life and given us this earth are probably worshipped the most correctly by native Americans. In a time when there was no government forcing "TRUTH" down their throats, they worshipped their God(s) with the best of intentions, and without a book of tales to guide them.

American Indians are decended from the tribes in Siberia, China, and Asia. These ancient ancestors most likely migrated to these regions from the Middle Eastern area, where they were once known as Cananites...those would be the same Cananites mentioned in the Bible. If you look into the ancient history you'll find that the Cananites worshipped the same gods as the Indians, in the same ways. I do think that the history of the Cananites is given in the Bible you choose to ignore. Science and Archeology provide the rest.

See my whole problem with the bible is when people take it for its literal since... instead of using the brain that whatever God you believe in gave you and think about it logically? I enjoy people who question all things, cause well that how we grow as a society. Do you think I blindly follow everything our Govt says? NO! so why blindly follow something that was written thousands of years ago, writen by man? Question it! If people in all time just followed what people said was the right way then you and I and the U.S. would not be here. If Christopher Columbus didnt take a chance and sail around the world, when at that time people believed it was flat,(how ludarics!!!) then he would have never found America. See I have nothing wrong with people believing in whatever they want, but when they start pushing their believes and values down my throat i get mad and then try to make laws to fringe on my way of life...
