I am working with the Toledo Museum of Art to organize a sweepstakes -- with various prizes -- and thought it would be of interest to this board. I don't post here a lot, but have contributed in the past. If the Monroe News and/or others feel this is too promotional, I apologize, feel free to remove it.

Here are the details:

The Toledo Museum of Art launched its Too Good to Miss Sweepstakes this week. You can read more about it on the TMA's Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/ToledoMuseum  (click on the Promotions tab).

One of the main reasons for the sweepstakes is to get detailed feedback on what people like about the museum (hence, the name -- what is too good to miss at the museum).

Another focus is to increase the TMA's Facebook Page fan count. The grand prize winner in the contest (randomly selected from entrants) and the 10,000th fan will each receive the same prize. There are also prizes through fifth place, with all winners (other than the 10,000th fan) being selected via a random drawing from those who have entered.

I encourage you to check out the Toledo Museum of Art's Facebook Page (and be a fan, if you are not already) and definitely be sure to enter the sweepstakes. It ends by midnight, April 18.

I don't think this is a solicitation. The TMA is an excellent public museum!

The TMA is a neat place (thought of that before the contest). My family was there (my wife & I have four kids, age 2-11) late last year and everyone enjoyed it. The family center was the kids' favorite, followed by the Egyptian exhibit. (Hey, who doesn't love mummies!)

I'm glad you posted this, Mike. I "fanned" them on fb, entered their sweepstakes, and will likely visit them soon! The TMA is a GREAT museum, a treasure! But as I understand it from their posts on fb, the mummies won't be on exhibit until Autumn. And my favorite painting, the Oath of the Horatii by Jacque-Louis David won't be on display until then, either! :0(
