I'm thinking it's good to see Monique & BRD back.

I thought Monique might have gotten tangled up in yarn. LOL

When I was a little boy, my mother spoke of a prophecy, of a time when all the world would be covered in darkness and the fate of all of mankind would be decided. One night I finally got the courage to ask my mother why God had changed, why He was so angry with His children. “I don’t know,” she said as she tucked the covers around me. “I guess He just got tired of all the bullshlt.”

Thanks, Fritz! Been busy with the garden and the kids. Not much free time in the summer!

LOL! Not tangled in yarn, yet. Still too warm for needlecrafts for me, but I *was* doing a little hand sewing last night. Godawful, too. I'm so much better with a machine! But, I did buy a beginner's set of knitting needles today! ;0)

Spent all last weekend out to the fairgrounds working on our hamfest (amateur radio swap) and this weekend we will be down at Vienna park in Temperance for Field Day (Nation wide radio contest). Anyone want to talk on the radio we will be operating from 2:00 pm Saturday through 2:00 pm Sunday. We need to contact as many clubs across the U.S. and Canada as we can for points in a contest. Weather is supposed to be great and the skeeters haven't been seen this year yet. Come on down.

Not sure how "back" I am Fritz...

my work has been picking up again, but it's up and down...   I'm thankful to have the work but it makes it hard to plan ahead :-\ :-\ :-\

My wife told me that she was concerned over my obsession with the Monkees. I thought she was joking, then I saw her face.

Quiet tonight - I figure some are at the College listening to the Governor

or, they took the last train to Clarksville

I do think Governor is sincere about balancing Michigan's budget-digging us out of a hole, but I don't want to be beholden to foreigners for loans and investment and workers. I hate how Michigan is used as a waste dump and the right to privacy is degraded.

The governor was here this morning Professor...

at least the one person that has commented so far was not thrilled with the "town hall MEETING"...   according to him the governor only took 5 questions from the floor 8* 8* 8*

Saw cars lined up along I-75 as far north as the Davison, to watch the Detroit fireworks. It was just happenstance that we were heading home about the time the show was in full swing. The exits heading downtown were all blocked...couldn't get closer if I wanted.
Very nice fireworks display. So many that I kept wondering if that was their finale....but it went on and on.
As we continued on I couldn't help but notice the throngs of people that packed the service drives on that beautifully perfect evening.

Every pedestrian bridge was jam packed with spectators.... people and cars lined the overpasses all the way down to Springwells.

I couldn't believe all the vehicles lining the side of I-75 going over that huge bridge...I think it's called the Rouge Bridge (over Dearborn St. in SW Detroit)

That was the last of the spectators I saw...and may very well be the last Detroit fireworks show.

Like I said, it was a perfect evening...and for the first time that I can remember....I didn't gag from the stench that's normally in the air going over that hill....the southwest Detroit/Delray air smelled fine last night.
