Saw cars lined up along I-75 as far north as the Davison, to watch the Detroit fireworks. It was just happenstance that we were heading home about the time the show was in full swing. The exits heading downtown were all blocked...couldn't get closer if I wanted.
Very nice fireworks display. So many that I kept wondering if that was their finale....but it went on and on.
As we continued on I couldn't help but notice the throngs of people that packed the service drives on that beautifully perfect evening.
Every pedestrian bridge was jam packed with spectators.... people and cars lined the overpasses all the way down to Springwells.
I couldn't believe all the vehicles lining the side of I-75 going over that huge bridge...I think it's called the Rouge Bridge (over Dearborn St. in SW Detroit)
That was the last of the spectators I saw...and may very well be the last Detroit fireworks show.
Like I said, it was a perfect evening...and for the first time that I can remember....I didn't gag from the stench that's normally in the air going over that hill....the southwest Detroit/Delray air smelled fine last night.
