No rain here in Milan, or in Monroe, where I was when the storm passed us to the south.

We need rain bad, and a bunch of it.  Commodity prices are jumping because of it.

No evidence of rain here near the beach.

I'm thinking about this:

ALL CONCERTS ARE FREE – ALL WEEKEND LONG!

Last night was Buckcherry...and Eddie Money headlines tonight.

Tomorrow (Sunday) they'll have Detroit based band The Dirty Americans (drummer Jeremiah Pilbeam is a native of Dundee).

Also appearing Sunday: Skid Row and Tesla...free!

I was wondering the same thing about Livewire.   The way the wind was blowing and the sound of the distant thunder, I thought we might get a good one...... alas, we had maybe 20 drops here, Eriemaid.   Was hoping for much more for that corn >:(

Thanks for thinking about me and my corn (and soybeans), guys!

Here in Milan we got about 9-1/2 drops.   :P

Not enough rain to make the bottom of the rain gauge wet.

Maybe tonight.  More chances of rain this afternoon.

GRRRR!!!!    I was so hoping for better for your area, Live.    Guess I best get outside and do the funky rain dance again.   Hoping for a decent amount of rain this week and will cross my fingers so tightly for you.

We got about 9-1/2 minutes of rain  quarter inch - just a teaser.

Just enough to wake up the mosquitoes probably

I just read something really good, it stopped me. I should read more!

With Americans, whenever the organized government does not prove its grant, the liberty of the individual citizen is sacred and inviolable. Elsewhere there are governments called republics; universal suffrage constitutes the state; but, once constituted, the state is tyrannous and arbitrary, invades at will private rights, and curtails at will individual liberty. One republic is liberty's native home--America.

Taken from The Duty and Value of Patriotism--John Ireland

This is part of one of many readings in a publication called America First, it is a compilation of speeches, poems, psalms and all sorts of things. It's available free as a pdf download. I'm enjoying it and putting myself in the spirit of the fourth!.

Happy Fourth of July

I'll just be glad when it's over. I'm tired of finding evidence of wayward fireworks scattered in my yard.

20 states banned fireworks because of the dry conditions...$2,500 fine in Indiana.

That should have been done here as well.  I don't agree with Snyder and this new law entirely.  It's a tinderbox out there.  I suspect local fire departments will be very busy over the next few days....
