Im thinking my pulled pork is going to be so awsome for tommorrow since its in the crock pot now and it smells so good . Hoping for a great pool day with awsome food tommorrow . Ive worked my b*** off this month & I really need it . (sigh)

I'm thinking I am sooo happy I got a couple crafty things done today.

I made a diaper cake and a diaper bear for a friend of mine, and I think they turned out pretty good! I just hope she thinks the same. lol

And I have to add it's a little difficult to do those crafty things with a broken finger.... but still happy with the way they look.

A broken finger?   Yikes!!   That makes lots of things difficult.  You managed to type your post well, my dear.  Hope it heals quickly for you.   Your gifts sound adorable!

I am thinking that there are worse things besides NO rain.  I drove through New Boston yesterday, and looked at several fields there... The hail DESTROYED hundreds of acres of corn and soybeans.  The corn there is still standing, but the leaves are totally shredded, and hang limp on the stalks.  It looks horrible, and is very sad.  The soybeans are only 6 or 8 inches high, and were just pounded into the ground by the hail in that area.  The corn MAY come back, with severely decreased yields, but the soybeans are a total loss.  If I were those farmers, I would be replanting those beans.


My northern-most field is a couple miles west of the New Boston area, and was untouched by the hail.  I have soybeans planted there, and it looks like it even got a little bit of rain.

No matter how bad things LOOK, they could ALWAYS be worse.

Thanks for your first-hand account, Livewire.   I'd heard about it and wondered if the crops could be salvaged.   Much too sad for those who rely on their fields.    I still would like to see a nice fruitful rain for us, but not a devastating downpour or heavy winds.   

You are right, tho.   Look around and we can always find someone is worse off than us, then be grateful for what we do have.

Yes, it does make some things difficult... like changing a diaper on a squirmy 9 month old! LOL! I must say I have been getting a lot of help from Live, and I appreciate it so much. I'm very lucky

I'm thinking I have really screwed up my computer today.  I can not go to any web browser. No search engine. In fact I can only come to facebook and here.   All the other sites, when I click on them (like google) comes up as a big black screen that says "Web site blocked by Filter" . . . that's it.  I don't know what I did.  I don't know how to fix it   boo hiss

Erie, if you haven't made any changes, it might be your Internet server.  With all the weather related problems lately, their connection could be jumbled. 
you could try this: 


(in Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options, then the Connections tab.

In that tab click the "LAN Settings" button. If you do not use Proxy Settings, make sure the only option ticked there is "Automatically detect settings". If anything else is selected, remove them.

Restart IE then try again, or restart your favorite browser if not IE and try again)

I tried it, but it didn't work skittelroo . .     I think I can only come here and to facebook because I had icons on my ?first page? whatever that is called.  I've tried to even go other places from here, but it always says the same thing . . web site blocked by filter. . . where in the heck is the filter at?  If I could find it, I'd turn it off

I did a google search and found someone else with the identical problem. They found out it was their internet provider.

I'm not sure what you mean.  I am a computer dummy.  I have charter . . . I use igoogle as a home page. . . I use internet explorer . . does that answer your question?

Try unplugging the power to your router for 1 minute and then plug it back in. I think the filter is something parents can use to block porn sites from their kids and somehow it must have gotten activated on yours. I'll do some more checking.
