There are other kinds of cranes and with migration it could be anything probably.

Sometimes it's hard to see the red on their head until you're fairly close to them.

Last night I got a picture of a deer and a coyote.  We hadn't seen a coyote all winter although we've been seeing a fox regularly.

What I've seen all of a sudden is rabbits...   on the camera at night and in the field walking the dog.  Should be easy hunting for any of the wild critters that like rabbit!!!

Our son put up a purple martin house as they've seen a few around although so far none have moved in.

Anyone have any ideas of how to lure them into a new house?

Just recalling as a youth when we had one.......key was to keep the sparrows from nesting in them.  I remember one family that would hang a dead sparrow from a few of the perches.  I swear to God on this story, but I knew another family that ran electric wires to the perches and would throw a switch when they would see sparrows get on them.

I'm not certain when they come to this area in numbers......I noticed the first ones in the St. Louis are about 2 weeks ago.

I'm thinking with the cooler spring maybe they're just not here yet.

7:02 am yesterday the trailcam caught a picture of a couple of turkeys taking a walk in our woods.  One of them is the biggest Tom I've ever seen around here.

The trailcam was busy overnight for yesterday.

I had multiple deer at night and turkeys in the morning.

Also had the little fox at night and then a raccoon before the deer moved in.

Rabbits and squirrels have become very common the last several days.  Must be spring in the air!!!

We had several pictures yesterday but most of them were rabbits.  I think we're being over run with rabbits all of a sudden!!!

We did have one picture of a small turkey but that was about it.

Hopefully a better day today!

We got a gap between showers so the dog and I hurried back to the trail camera.  Nothing but a few rabbits.

The night before we had a parade overnight and early morning though.  Three turkey pictures in the morning, a woodchuck got in there twice.  I think that is the first time I've gotten a woodchuck in all the years I've been using the trailcam.  There's also a bird with some yellow on it.  It looks like it's just soaring through.  It's bigger than a robin or a starling.  Looks like it might be some kind of a small hawk of some kind.  I've seen them around here before but not all the time.

I didn't get the card for a couple of days.  I still had to put on my barn boots to wade through the water to get to the camera.

I had lots of rabbits again along with a few turkeys and one picture of a deer.  The deer stood around for a bit nibbling on something.

Mentioning rabbits i think maybe i outsmarted them, or maybe they outsmarted me.  They've been chewing up the tuips as they popped out of the ground like they usually do.  I stopped by Ciolinos and bought a big bag of carrots. Tulips are now growing!

With all the water in the grass now, I have a feeling your trailcam is going to be working overtime snapping pictures of giant mosquitoes.

I’ve got millions of them already.
Now I just have to wait until they get to be a good eating size.
