Here is a great site to keep an eye on the VA Hospitals and clinics. I go to this at least once a week. Also new ruling on PTSD claims.

When I was in the army it seemed like everyone was from the south.

I was part of the largest draft to ever leave our home county in one day in history...

I don't recall the exact numbers, but I can assure you us northern guys were well represented at the time ;) ;) ;)

Veterans Day at the Fair

I just wanted to remind everyone that Monday, August 2nd is Veterans Day at the fair.
Veterans with proper I.D. get free admission to the fair until 6:00 p.m.
When entering, veterans will receive a ribbon to wear and a gift bag. The gift bag will contain various items including a list of vendors who will be giving veterans’  discounts and freebies that day.
If you enter the fair, and did not receive a bag, stop by the United Veterans Club Booth, which is inside the South Exhibit building, next to the poultry barn.
While there getting your bag, you can register to win one of the many prizes from many area restaurants. Drawings are just for veterans.
At around 2:30 p.m. all veterans, that would like to participate, are to meet at the large white tent at the east side of the fairgrounds. Veterans and organizations (with colors) that would like to walk in the on fairgrounds may do so. The parade is going to be lead by a bagpiper.
After the parade, which will end at the tent, veterans, as well as family members, will be given a special concert performed by The New Odyssey Band.

I FULLY REALIZE THIS THREAD IS FROM 2010 BUT IS IT TOO LATE TO TURN OFF THE ALL-CAPS TITLE?  SCREAMING IS WHAT IT'S CALLED,  AND "VETERANS" HAVE DONE NOTHING TO SCREAM ABOUT EXCEPT IN SHAME.

Are you saying you are ashamed of the U.S. Military in general?

What have veterans done that you are ashamed of?

You have a problem bud.....  Thousand of vets died so you can enjoy the freedoms you have today.  They put their lives on the line for the United States and asked for nothning in return.

You need to remove that post entirely.

Yeah I agree with you but if he doesn't like veterans i guess he can take that stand.  We don't have to respect his position or him in general now.

I'm still waiting for coin bank to answer my question...

Maybe he's ashamed to answer it.

Considering that it seems that most of Monroe County supports Military Veterans and that there are quite a few veterans on this forum, like myself, and family and friends of veterans. I'm the one that started this thread. I started it and put it all in caps so it won't be missed, overlooked or buried like other topics forgotten.
As for too late changing it... No it not too late. I could have changed it after I started it if someone would have brought it to my attention. I can change it now but after five years and only one complaint, I'm leaving it the way it is.
