The 100th Tibetan to Set Himself on Fire <- link

A Tibetan monk doused himself in petrol in a Kathmandu restaurant on Wednesday and set himself on fire, marking the 100th self-immolation bid in a wave of protests against Chinese rule since 2009.

"To the international community I say 'stand up for Tibetans'. The Chinese government has completely militarised the Tibetan area," he added.

    So the philosophical brethren of US! liberals and neo-cons, who broach no dissent from their orthodoxy by mere mundanes, are cited as the source of "pacifistic" Buddhist immolations.  One supposes that's a reasonable explanation: when one is relegated to subhumanity by a police state the atrocity of self-destruction entices rather than abhors. It's quite shameful that self-loathing liberals everywhere aren't dispatching themselves at a comparable, or greater, velocity...
