Letter to the Editor Thread
« on: September 04, 2010, 01:51:51 PM »

Since no one has answered my PM, I decided to post it here.

I have a suggestion for a new subject for the Forum.
It is known that the Monroe Evening News post links to stories that appear in the newspaper looking for comments and feedback. A subject thread that may get some interest is, Letter to the Editor.

I know for the last couple of month's (if not year's) there has been several letters published in the newspaper that "go-back-n-forth". The names of the submitters don't have to be published, just the content of the letter. There has been several time's that I personally wanted to reply but, there is a limitation to the amount of words. Besides, I know from personal experience that a letter could be rejected.

There has been some good commentary and a lot of good points made on some of the letters that are published. . Perhaps using the forum, not just the citizens of Monroe County could also voice their opinion, the Elected Officials could find out more of what their community feels about certain issues.

Very good idea. At least there could be conversation back and forth so questions could be answered and different opinions can be heard. Hope the moderators consider this request seriously.

Thanks ATG & Brian.
I’m sure like most topics, “IF” they decide to do it, it could get real interesting.

Revised your list for you

Wet T Shirts #1
Summer time Hot Dog/Pretzel Stand with nearby Scotch & Beer Tent #2

If we could combine all of this together, we'd have a near naked lady covered in beer and pretzels, and Fuzz.

A suggestion... on the line of near naked lady, I recommend the Stripper Mobile.

That may be pushing it, Mayo....but, I could see some merit in a local amateur night.   ;)

Hot dogs, pretzels, beer, scotch, and a brass pole erected in the gazebo......Now THAT is a "Saturday in the Park".  Of course to be followed by a wet t-shirt contest for the more modest participants.

What City Council could turn that down.  Brian, just hush up.   ;D

In public or private? Privately, most would probably agree. ;)
