fluffy bunnies,
I read the terms of service when I signed up.
Whereas, the majority of you here do not find wet t-shirts as being:
(from the terms of service)
"Descriptions or details about any sexual organs"
I am sure there are some that do.
You are correct, I do not have to come here. I post here very little, and I read less all the time, for the simple reason, I don't need to know what is posted here. I was coming here for discussion about the community, events, news, etc.
It is a public forum.
You all appear know each other, and that is nice. It is obvious that anyone new here, must agree with the majority, or else.
What I suppose no one thinks about is that there are plenty of people that read this forum. Each of you are conveying an image to your peers. You are also conveying an image of Monroe News.
It would not be unheard of that a child would talk to their teacher about mommy or daddy playing at Monroe Talks. You would be amazed what children say about their parents to their teachers.
My opinion doesn't matter. I can see there is no place for me here.
Stay cool.
Well, I suppose this is the first letter to the editor...
Sometimes some here make somewhat off color jokes or puns. Most here are adults, but know that anyone over 13 can post.
Your observation is correct that most here know each other, mostly just online but some know each other in personal life too. However, and that is a big HOWEVER, there is no agree with everyone here. I think everyone here has argued or debated with everyone else. Sometimes one will go far over the line and get a smack-down by some others, with a general consensus that it was too far. That happens rarely, and is very obvious when it does, and disappears as soon as the Admin arrives to delete it. That is someone over the line, not how Fuzz talked.
Again, there is no MAJORITY to be against you. The argument they made is, relax... Sometimes things are just meant in jest. This place can get pretty detestable at times, and most of us like the nice light jests too.
I don't think anyone reading here believes it is the voice of Monroe Publishing. It might reflect a wrong impression to those outside Monroe, that don't really know the community, that we are somehow different than the actual community. I don't know what that could be, but that IS possible. MPC has to be middle of the road and try to keep readership. Most, if not all, of the posters here are too far from middling to be reflections of the paper.
I know the children of some posters. One is someone I love to talk to, and is going to be a medical researcher (I think... anyway a doctorate degree in med research) She is a good kid, gets good grades, has a good home life (when she is home, she stays at University right now) and makes time to go see her family even with her busy schedule.
Another is a fifth year senior at Eastern to become a special ed teacher for the hearing impaired. She goes full time, works as manager and asst. manager at a fast food place full time, has a black belt going for second degree, a full time serious boyfriend and still makes time for her family too.
The first is Fuzz's daughter (she posts here *** Phoenix) the second is mine.
Okay, so maybe you meant child type child. I have my autistic 6 year old grandson 3 1/2 days a week, and he may not talk or understand words well, but he reads emotions and unspoken language really well. I can't get upset here or he would know it in a second. It doesn't matter what the posting is about.
I think I did get a little miffed over the comment "but what about the children" I hated that back in the Clinton days. If those against Clinton wouldn't have made a big deal about it, then no children would have known. My children were young enough to have had to talk about that. If a child even cares to read this place, then they are rather grown up, because no one here talks about children's stuff. Well, maybe in parenting, but...
There is a high school student that posts. He gets a little easy time because everyone knows he is younger, but at the same time, he wants to argue with the adults and gets his share of responses.
I will agree that some are intentionally rude too often and that can be bad. New posters are not going to know that someone making a nasty rude comment isn't personal to them, but just the way they are.
You are absolutely correct... your opinion doesn't matter... nor does mine, or Fluffy's, or Fuzz's, or anyone else's. Everyone is exactly equal, new, first time poster, or someone here for years. Maybe someone around a while is understood better, but his opinion isn't of any more worth.
What doesn't work out so well, is what others said; to repeatedly say your opinion is worthless is negative and asking for a reaction. It is the same as a woman asking if she is fat... knowing full well that anyone that answers "yes" is going to be punished for it.
As someone else here says
"peace"
