I thought it might be nice to share what everyone is reading.

I just read "The Way of Kings" by Brandon Sanderson.  He wrote the final "Wheel of Time" book (I didn't read that)  I have read other books by him and he is good.

Also read "Lord of the Changing Winds" by Rachel Neumeier.  Not so good.

Also read 5 of the books in the series of "Repairman Jack" by F. Paul Wilson.  Fantastic stories.

Reading the "Wizard in Rhyme" series by Christopher Stasheff.  I really like them.  Very interesting idea, but some don't like the religious aspects in them.  But, to me it is some fun light reading.



That's it for about the last ten days.  Going to the library tomorrow though.

If you go to the Google home page, it will have a choice of "more" on the top line.  Click on that and then books.  There are bunches of books on line.  Some are only previews, but there are hundreds of books that are complete editions.

I'm reading "Bluebeard" by Kurt Vonnegut. I'm waiting for the library to transfer in "Rabbit Redux" by John Updike. Just finished "Rabbit, Run" and gotta read the next one!

I'm between novels at the moment. Not sure what I'm gonna pick up next. I've been working my way down the 100 greatest novels of the century list. But I'm thinking I might pick up something more current next. Maybe The Atlantis Code, I here it's pretty good.

Torpedo Squadron 8 was the TBD Devastator squadron that made the initial attack on the Japanese carriers at Midway. All of them were shot down, only one pilot survived. One interesting tidbit is that one of them, Ozzie Gaynier, was born and raised here in Monroe.

I must read more than most...

Right now it's "Bloodlands: Europe between Hitler and Stalin". It's an excellent book, though not for the faint of heart, since it discusses in detail the mass killings, the famines, and deportations that affected millions of people in Eastern Europe and Ukraine in the 1930's and during WW2. 

For anyone who has seen the movie about the young Hannibal Lecter and how he came to be the character portrayed in "Silence of the Lambs" and the movies that spun off from it, this book is proof that such things really did happen.
